Mendocino Community Health Center (MCHC) is seeking a seasoned, full-time Registered Dietitian who is accountable, empathetic, and collaborative to join our team and help build a new dietitian department from the ground up. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by developing personalized dietary programs, offering counseling, and providing specialized support for conditions such as diabetes, obesity, pregnancy, and kidney disease. Your work will span multiple MCHC locations, ensuring that our services reach the communities that need them most. Duties include:
- Develops and implements culturally sensitive programs of instruction in diet therapy, nutrition, and diet counseling techniques for MCHC staff; develops needed nutrition education materials.
- Teaches and counsels patients of various demographic groups to select and/or prepare and use the foods that will best nourish their bodies, taking into consideration physical, financial, social, and emotional needs, as well as personal preferences and cultural patterns.
- Provide specialized education to patients with diabetes, obesity, pregnancy, kidney disease, et cetera.
- Travels to all MCHC site locations, as scheduled and as needed
- Performs additional duties as assigned

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Be a registered dietitian (RD) or registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) in good standing with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
- Minimum bachelor's degree in nutrition/dietetics
- Minimum of one year of registered dietitian experience.
- Must be eligible to provide medically necessary Medical Nutrition Therapy reimbursable by Partnership HealthPlan of California (PHC).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Diabetic Educator (CDE)
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC)
- Bilingual, English/Spanish, Fluent
