Description:

If you are passionate about Data and Analytics and have a knack for building PowerBI dashboards and automation, you will enjoy working in the Performance and Business Insights OAW team. You will join a dynamic and fast-paced data insights environment, where you will use your skills and tools to collect, compile, analyze, and showcase the organization's data. You will lead and participate in projects and strategic initiatives that are complex and innovative, requiring knowledge and specialization in data analytics and visualization. You will assume ownership of the Performance & Business Insights team PowerBI reporting suite, develop and implement business plans, liaise with business intelligence, monitor performance, and identify opportunities to improve data-driven decision-making. Conduct data analysis for various initiatives and ensure that the management information is easily accessible for the end users. You will provide recommendations on the planning and execution of various data visualization deliverables, based on a comprehensive analysis and understanding of the organization and all its lines of business. You will act as a subject matter expert, technical coach, and data validator for the team daily. As Senior Analyst, Data Visualization & Automation, you'll collaborate with stakeholders throughout the organization and will and deliver results and/or initiatives efficiently. More specifically, you will be required to:
  • Lead and actively look for system optimization opportunities while taking into consideration possible impacts. Analyze, diagnose, follow up on, and resolve highly complex operational and conceptual problems during incidents.
  • Identify, extract, analyze, interpret, and build PowerBI dashboards to showcase the performance of our distribution channels, while converting complex data into simple visualizations for end users.
  • Design and implement data models and structures that meet the business requirements and adhere to the data architecture standards and principles supporting data stewardship.
  • Develop and maintain workflows that automate data ingestion, processing, and delivery using various tools and platforms. Ensure standardization across all PowerBI dashboards.
  • Perform data quality checks and issue resolution using advanced data cleansing and transformation techniques and escalating issues in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Write procedures, guidelines and development methods. Help develop documentation that is prepared and delivered for training purposes to peers and users via SOP manual.
  • Represent the team in various meetings, presentations, and events.

What you bring to the table
  • Bachelor's degree in a related fields including: Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Management Analytics, Developer
  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in advanced analytics and building complex PowerBI dashboards
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Experience collaborating with Underwriting, Actuarial, Business Intelligence, Business Architects on complex and sensitive matters. Operational knowledge of Agent facing tools, systems, and processes
  • Expert proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
  • Advanced proficiency with datasets, coding, application, and analysis tools
  • Advanced proficiency in Business Analytics, Security, Denodo, and CHS environment
  • Advanced proficiency in MS 365 suite, PowerBI, SQL or SAS, Power Automate
  • Intermediate knowledge of Performance KPIs for all underwriting banners in Ontario, Atlantic and Western Canada, specifically DAN, TPIC, and DI. Knowledge of Quebec Performance KPIs is beneficial
