The Commercial Operations Manager reports to SVP P&EM Dotted line to Commercial Operations Lead. The role will assist the Commercial Operations Lead in providing a commercial excellence service which includes Launch, Global Expansion, Commercial training, and Business Analytics, in addition to supporting the SVP in Executive Assistant tasks, and some general regional administrative tasks as required

This is a 2 years FTC (Fixed Term Contract) hybrid office based 2 days in Maidenhead, UK or Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Key Responsibilities

Administration and Business Information Analytics:
  • Support the Head of Partner Markets with executive support as and when required.
  • Align with the Commercial Operations Lead to provide support and guidance to P&EM extended leadership team to set agenda and priorities for biweekly meetings, make recommendations on topics and time allotments, and generally prepare for P&EM LT, xLT and cluster board meetings and keeping/distributing meeting minutes where required. Ensure all Meeting distribution invite lists are reviewed monthly to ensure correct attendance.
  • Carry out supporting tasks for P&EM team, particularly the Europe and MART clusters. This will include support and management of Purchase Orders, keeping records of contracting & legal documents (HR files, contracts, Invoices), working in close partnership with Legal, Finance, HR, and other expertise areas in P&EM. Management of post email flows, shipment of material.
  • Support the P&EM team in the partner contractual governance processes to include the management of the Partner Portal reporting tool. Ensuring the use of correct documentation and the inclusion of scheduling internal and external meetings (proactively addressing agenda conflicts), keeping meeting minutes.
  • Management of the Partner Portal: This will include Performance Tracking and Monitoring. This will include the creation and maintenance of Partner / Geography Specific Performance Tracking Dashboard. Providing quarterly updates to P&EM Leadership
  • Leads and supports projects as defined by SVP & Commercial Operations Lead.


Launch Excellence:
  • Supports the commercial lead with the project management activities. In addition, the creation and deployment of workflow tools to streamline the launch excellence process. Ensures all information contained in launch dashboards and reporting documents are continually updated based on discussion with Commercial Operations lead, EA's and Commercial Leads.


Commercial Training
  • Operational Support on activities and governance for partners and affiliate commercial training for the region. Ownership of the operational activities of the E Learning Platform to ensure that user lists are updated, and training is allocated when required as per the P&EM Training Plan. Supports and facilitates the commercial operations lead where required in the delivery of the Annual Partner Learning strategy, by supporting the quarterly training meetings plan and engaging with the cross functional teams as required.


Events /Congress
  • Support participation in Congresses & Symposia (booth, budgeting, coordination, funding) in collaboration with Marketing & Medical for the region. Arrange and provide support for meetings (e.g., P&EM annual All Hands and Partners Meeting) including planning and execution, agenda preparation, and meeting logistics as required.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, Finance, or a related field. MBA or Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2) for advanced leadership and project management skills considered a plus
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industries, particularly in commercial operations, business administration, or partner management roles.
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical governance, compliance, and contracting processes, ensuring alignment with industry standards like FDA, EMA, MHRA, and GDPR regulations.
  • Expertise in managing commercial models, partner relationships, and distribution channels.
  • Experience with partner contractual governance and use of Partner Portals to manage performance tracking and reporting.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA, GDPR) and ability to manage documentation, invoicing, and purchase orders in compliance with pharmaceutical standards.
  • Strong project management skills with experience coordinating pharma product launches, tracking KPIs, and ensuring operational efficiency using performance tracking tools and dashboards.
  • Experience in managing training programs for partners and affiliates, including operational expertise in E-Learning platforms for compliance training (e.g., SOPs, Code of Conduct).
  • Expertise in coordinating pharmaceutical conferences, including logistics, budgeting, and sponsorships, while ensuring compliance with HCP engagement policies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle).
  • Experience using CRM tools (Salesforce, Veeva CRM) and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) for reporting and analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interacting with executives, partners, and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail for managing pharma compliance and contractual obligations.
