THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services is seeking an exceptional Quality Assurance Risk Management Coordinator to join our Division of Quality Management team. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This management-level position involves synthesizing data from various sources to assess compliance and identify risks related to Medicaid Behavioral HealthChoices standards for Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and individual primary contractors. In this role, you will oversee and monitor Pennsylvania's Behavioral Health Choices program, conducting annual compliance reviews and on-site evaluations every three years for behavioral health managed care organizations in the state to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations. The position also includes reviewing MCO quality management program descriptions, work plans, annual evaluations, provider profiles, and policies and procedures. Additionally, you will assess service denial letters, member complaints, and performance measure outcomes to ensure they meet department contract requirements. As a key team member, you will provide expert guidance in analyzing and interpreting new and existing regulations, policies, procedures, standards, and clinical guidelines, ensuring the high-quality delivery of behavioral health services while offering targeted technical assistance to various business partners.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time with a minimum of one day per month in the office or as required. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as a Quality Assurance/Risk Management Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Three years of professional experience as a member of a multiple disciplinary treatment team in a public or private health care facility and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Three years of clinical experience in a human services agency, including two years of administrative, evaluative, consultative or supervisory work in a health care program; and a bachelor's degree with major course work in social work, nursing, health care administration, behavioral sciences or a related field; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
