Kimley-Horn has an opportunity for a motivated Senior Remediation Project Manager to expand our Environmental Remediation practice in Alpharetta, GA!

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will lead a practice specializing in various assessment and remediation projects, including brownfield development, along with groundwater resource investigations. This candidate will support various assessment and remediation projects, including brownfield development, along with groundwater resource investigations. The candidate will be a part of and manage staff within a team for completion of soil and groundwater sampling, aquifer performance testing and data evaluation, pilot study investigations, environmental compliance, observation of remedial activities, report writing, agency coordination, and permitting. Ideal candidates will have knowledge and experience in one or more of the following: hydrogeology, site assessment and remediation, field investigations, regulatory compliance and reporting, and other specialties. This individual will have an entrepreneurial spirit and create a vision for growth for an Environmental Services practice while growing their own projects, clients, and team around them.

Leadership responsibilities include:
  • Lead an environmental team while building and managing relationships with key clients.
  • Operate with integrity and sound business principles.
  • Provide practice vision, business planning and strategy, establishing goals, building, and maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Open communication with partners and team, along with growing and directing an Environmental Services practice.
  • Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, grow and mentor staff, help recruit, and be a positive role model.


Management responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Meeting or exceeding client expectations.
  • Identifying and tracking leads.
  • Making presentations, writing proposals and scopes of work.
  • Establish budgets, ensuring quality and timeliness of deliverables, and supervising the execution of work.
  • Accounting, administrative, marketing, recruiting, IT and production support will be provided.


Qualifications

  • BS or MS in Engineering or Geology or related degree.
  • Licensed as a Professional Engineer or Geologist in Georgia.
  • 10+ or more years' relevant experience.
  • Client contacts and relationships with local municipalities, area counties, water management authorities and local, regional, state agencies.
  • Business development skills and the proven ability to win work.
  • Experience writing proposals, scopes of work, and budgets for projected work.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to manage & mentor staff, and direct resources effectively in a positive manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects profitably.
  • Ability to cross sell multiple disciplines.
  • Possess strong knowledge of state and local environmental regulations, including Chapter 62-780 FAC
  • Possess experience with aquifer performance testing and data analysis and working with regulatory agency staff
  • Possess strong technical writing skills and have experience writing detailed technical reports
  • Enjoy working in both an office environment and in the field
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel for projects, as needed
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
  • Desire to provide exceptional client service
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to enjoy work independently and on a team
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Experience with water use permitting rules and regulations
  • Practical experience with geographic information systems (GIS), specifically ArcGIS and/or CAD
  • Familiarity with contaminant fate and transport analysis
