Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking an Accounting Specialist for the Division of Institutional Planning & Operations (IP&O).
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
- Processes various financial documents and data. Analyzes data and prepares internal financial reports consistent with a basic understanding of the mission, vision, role and goals of the Business Unit.
- Works under direct supervision, with specific instructions on routine or semi-routine work and established work parameters for the unit.
- Work is usually reviewed upon completion. Performs professional work requiring knowledge of general accounting principles and practices and the basic application and use of concepts, theories and terminology of accounting such as reconciliation.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field, plus two years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and practices.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people, strong organizational skills, demonstrated ability to work with on a team, strong attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
- Good communication skills, computer literacy, and ability to manage multiple tasks in a professional manner.
