Job Summary

St. Joseph School is seeking a Kindergarten teacher for the 2025-2026 school year to join a highly motivated, curious, and passionate staff of educators. The primary grade curriculum includes Reading/Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Religion, and Math.

Responsibilities

• Create a supportive and caring classroom environment in which every student can learn both independently and collaboratively;
• Build open, cooperative, and meaningful relationships with students, colleagues, and parents;
• Communicate effectively and often with families;
• Inculcate a culture of excellence in your classroom;
• Teach the school curriculum with fidelity;
• Align instruction with known best practices: a concise and assessable objective, appropriate scaffolding, frequent checks for understanding paired with reteaching or clarification, and independent practice to demonstrate mastery;
• Consistently use formative assessment data to both drive instruction and develop short and long-term learning targets for all students;
• Differentiate instruction so that all students achieve mastery of learning targets;
• Work with the grade-level teaching team to plan, create common assessments, and analyze data to ensure the success of all students;
• Participate in all staff, building, and grade level meetings and perform various faculty supervisory duties.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will:

• Have an enthusiastic commitment to the mission of St. Joseph School and the institution's core values;
• Hold a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred);
• Hold a valid teaching certificate or be in the process of obtaining a certificate;
• Have excellent written and oral communication skills, classroom management, and organizational skills;
• Believe that all students can learn and achieve at high levels;
• Desire to work in a teacher-driven, student-centered environment;
• Demonstrate curiosity about the world and passion for engaging students in meaningful and authentic learning experiences;
• Use technology as needed to instruct, assess, and communicate student progress;
• Practicing Catholic preferred

Compensation

Salary: $66,000-$105,000. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant's skills, prior relevant experience, degrees, and certifications. For teachers in the first 5 years of their careers, we offer the opportunity to apply for affordable, innovative housing options, based on availability.
