Job Description Summary:

The Manager Medical Education leads efforts that strengthen the performance of OhioHealth residents and fellows to consistently achieve desired educational and patient outcomes while advancing system priorities and strategies. Provides expertise in learning, outcomes measurement, project and program management to drive the standardization and alignment of resident education to sustain consistent outcomes across the system.

Responsibilities And Duties:

Consultation: Collaborates with Program Directors, Faculty and the DME to analyze resident and program performance gaps and identify effective improvements and solutions. Conducts research on best practices to influence direction and decision-making. Assesses readiness for developing new residency/fellowship programs. Aligns processes and procedures for efficiency and consistency across the system.

Management: Oversees the department financial operations and manages budgets and resources to meet targets and outcomes. Approves all travel and expenditures for department. Supervises the department support staff. Set priorities, organizes and delegates work. Assesses areas of opportunity for operations improvement, identifies corresponding improvement targets and implements and sustains improvement efforts while engaging Program Directors, Faculty and staff in the process.

Accreditation: Educates the GMEC, Program Directors and Residency Program Specialists and Leads about their role in ensuring compliance with ACGME requirements. Develops the Annual Institutional Review AI r and Special Reviews. Establishes GME policies, resident contracts and affiliation agreements ensuring compliance with the latest ACGME requirements.

Change/Outcomes Management: Measures the effectiveness of the Next Accreditation System NA s for consistency and sustainability: Milestones: Develops a process for milestone assessment that works for each program. Educates the Program Director, Faculty and Residency Program Specialists on steps needed to support the milestone assessment process. Clinical Competency Committee CC c : Assists the Program Director in establishing the required CCC policy statements and procedures to ensure meaningful milestone assessments. Program Evaluation Committee PE c : Assists the Program Director in forming and implementing the required PEC. Oversees the Annual Program Evaluations, tracks and monitors outcomes data and action plans. CLER: Assists in assessing readiness for CLER visits. Reviews existing processes and identifies gaps and areas for improvements. Organizes all required documents. Prepares staff, faculty and residents in the six CLER focus areas.

Leadership: Leads department, fosters a sense of common purpose and provides guidance. Advises on accreditation changes and trends to identify educational needs and solutions. Mentors and coaches the development of others. Connects team to the organization and its vision.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree (Required)

Additional Job Description:
Degree required in education, healthcare administration or related field Ability to consult Extensive Experience in the management of a multi disciplinary team Ability to manage financial and budgetary expectations Demonstrated ability to assess outcomes, processes and performance improvement activities Experience in project management, including capital budgeting, planning and reporting Knowledgeable of adult learning principles and instructional and curricular designs strong leadership skills, Experience in staff supervision, and the capacity to build a team Evidence of innovative and creative problem solving skills Well developed oral and written communication skills Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships Ability to align with OhioHealth culture 7 10 years management Experience in Medical or comparable complex environment
