We are seeking a Project Financial Manager to oversee the financial management of New Generation Systems (NGS) projects, ensuring compliance, strategic oversight, and financial excellence throughout the project lifecycle.
Position Overview

The Project Financial Manager is responsible for managing all financial aspects of NGS projects from initiation to closeout. Reporting to the NGS Director Controller, this role leads a team of analysts and drives financial performance by overseeing project accounting, budgeting, risk analysis, and contract negotiations. The ideal candidate is a proactive, analytical leader with a passion for continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee project accounting and ensure alignment with corporate financial policies and procedures
Develop and implement strategies to optimize budgets and maximize cost efficiency
Conduct financial risk assessments and recommend mitigation strategies
Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings and ensure timely, accurate reporting
Prepare and present financial performance updates to senior management and stakeholders
Participate in project meetings to provide financial guidance and flag concerns early
Lead contract negotiations to secure favorable financial terms
Facilitate internal and external audits for project financials
Mentor and guide the finance team to support professional development and performance goals
Drive process improvements that enhance reporting, accuracy, and cross-department collaboration

Job Requirements

Qualifications

Education & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field

Minimum of 8+ years of experience in financial management, project accounting, or related fields

Experience with Percentage of Completion (POC) accounting for long-term construction projects preferred

Background in construction, engineering, or manufacturing industries strongly preferred

Proven track record in budget planning, financial risk analysis, and contract negotiation

Skills & Competencies

Proficient in SAP or similar ERP systems

Advanced knowledge of financial modeling, data analysis, and spreadsheets

Strong understanding of financial statements, contracts, and regulatory requirements

Exceptional communication and presentation skills

Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and mentoring skills
