Description:

Overview

We are opening the search for a new role at Parable that I believe will be foundational in how we express data to customers: our first Product Designer.

This role sits at the intersection of product, brand, data visualization, and user experience. You'll be responsible for creating intuitive, beautiful interfaces that help organizations understand and optimize their most precious resource - time. Beyond product design, you'll also shape how Parable presents itself to the world by impacting our marketing, sales, and brand touchpoints.

If you're energized by the challenge of making complex data and insights accessible and actionable through thoughtful and tasteful design, while also helping build a product that contributes to a category-defining brand, we'd love to talk.

This role is for someone who:
  • Lives at the intersection of beauty and function. You understand that great product design isn't just about aesthetics - it's about creating interfaces that make complex information clear and actionable. You've spent years crafting digital experiences, but you're always pushing yourself to find simpler, more elegant solutions.
  • Thinks in systems, not just screens. You naturally see the connections between different parts of a product and can create cohesive design systems that scale. You're as comfortable designing the big picture as you are obsessing over the micro-interactions that make a product feel polished.
  • Combines taste with analytical thinking. You make design decisions based on both aesthetics and data. You can transform complex data visualizations into intuitive interfaces one day and craft compelling brand materials the next. You're as comfortable in Figma as you are presenting your design rationale to stakeholders.
  • Is energized by variety. You know that great designers need to be versatile. You enjoy the challenge of switching between product interfaces, and making asset that are used across sales decks and other marketing materials - seeing each as an opportunity to strengthen and evolve our brand.
  • Is obsessed with user outcomes. You measure your success not by how beautiful your designs look, but by how effectively they help users achieve their goals. You're constantly seeking user feedback and aren't afraid to iterate based on what you learn.
You will be responsible for:
  • Leading the design of our core product experience, creating intuitive interfaces that make complex time and attention data actionable
  • Building and maintaining our design system to ensure consistency across all product interfaces
  • Collaborating with engineering to ensure high-quality implementation of designs
  • Collaborating with our cross functional design team, with support from our graphic designer and data visualization designer
  • Creating compelling presentations and materials that help our sales team tell the Parable story
  • Developing data visualization approaches that make complex insights immediately understandable, in collaboration with data visualization designers
  • Conducting user research and usability testing to validate design decisions
  • Partnering with product management to define and refine product requirements
In your first 3 months, you'll:
  • Dive deep into our existing product and user research to understand our users' needs and pain points
  • Create and validate initial designs for key product features with our design partners
  • Establish our core design system and component library
  • Design static product screens to support our sales and marketing materials
  • Implement a user research program to gather ongoing feedback
  • Partner with engineering to ship your first major product feature
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of product design experience, preferably with SaaS or enterprise products
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating both product and other design design work
  • Expert proficiency with modern design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite)
  • Experience creating and maintaining design systems
  • Strong understanding of data visualization best practices
  • Experience with user research and usability testing methodologies
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate design decisions
  • Experience working with engineering teams to ship production features
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or related field preferred
