Working Conditions
Maintains the Arduous Fitness Standard in accordance with Department policy. The incumbent is required to wear respiratory protection equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). As such Cal/OSHA requires the incumbent to be annually medically cleared to be fit-tested for respiratory protection equipment. The Unit expects a two-year commitment for all permanent assignments before granting transfer eligibility. May be required to work nights, weekends or holidays in support of emergency incidents.

This classification is eligible for the following pay:
$6714 - $8712 Base Salary (paid every month)
$2282 - $2961 Extended Duty Week Compensation (paid every 4 weeks)
$110,234 - $143,037 Annual Compensation
In addition to the above pay items, employees are eligible for medical benefits (health, dental, vision) and may be eligible for other pay differentials.
