DUTIES:
Patient Accounts:
Manage day-to-day operations of the clinic billing department, providing onsite support to billing company.
Monitor, audit, and ensure compliance with third-party billing company operations.
Establishes and track revenue cycle metrics to improve KPI's; investigate deviations from expected outcomes.
Ensures billing activities adhere to department protocol and compliance with Federal, PRC and third party regulations.
Maintains and update program guidelines and procedural manuals.
Act as clinic EPM super-user.
Prepares and analyzes financial reports.
Collects and compiles accurate statistical reports.
Purchased/Referred Care :
Monitor PRC program documents, including provider agreements and contracts to determine compliance with program policies and procedures.
Approve program expenditures and authorize PRC claim payments. Supervise, train, and cross-train staff in proper handling of patients accounts through individual and in-service sessions.
Maintains current program guidelines and procedural manuals.
Oversee accounting reconciliation of bank drafts used for PRC payment process and third-party billing deposits.
Provide backup coverage for the PRC Tech II and perform all the duties and responsibilities of that position as needed.
Business Office Manager:
Assist in preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for Business Office activities, ensuring compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and fulfilling administrative needs.
Supervises business office staff, overseeing work assignments, training, and issue resolution; assess performance, recommend personnel actions, and inspire employees to maximize productivity and performance.
Responds promptly and positively to requests, suggestions and needs maintaining a professional demeanor at all times.
Aid in development and implementation of enhanced workflow processes. Propose continuous improvements to enhance quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of work processes.
Engage in SCHC Leadership and Planning QI meetings, participate in in-service activities, and contribute to other relevant areas within the incumbent's discipline as recommended by clinic administration.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Accounting, or related field, and a minimum of four years of progressively responsible experience in Healthcare Administration, accounting or finance including at least two years in a supervisory role.
Knowledge of: Medical terminology, diagnosis, coding and insurance terminology. Regulations related to Medicare, Medicaid and commercial insurance. Medical billing procedures. Statistics to assess patient workload and establish quality controls. Electronic and manual billing, preferred. Continuous process improvement concepts. ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding systems, CMS-1500 and UB-04 forms, and billing practices. Experience in: Advanced Computer skills including database, word processing, spreadsheets applications, as well as familiarity with EHR/EMR systems (preferably NextGen) and their billing procedures. Budget development and monitoring. Hiring, Supervising and conducting performance reviews of team members. Tracking and auditing third-party and private payments. Developing and implementing policies and procedures Ability to: Communicate professionally with diverse stakeholders including clinicians, nurses, allied health staff, administrative personnel, contractors, governmental agencies, insurance payers, patients, family members, suppliers, and the public, of all age groups. Prepare and understand financial reports. Monitor activities, identify and analyze problems and propose and implement improvements. Plan, organize and supervise work activities. Promote teamwork. Become a NextGen super-user. Demonstrate problem-solving skills. Other: Must possess a valid driver's license, insurance and be eligible to drive a GSA vehicle.
