Position will be mostly 2nd shift (1PM - 10PM) but requires 1st and 3rd shift work to support program schedules.
Description
Test Engineer to support on-site, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift test bench operations for the Assembly, Integration and Test (AI&T) of a production Space Payload program.
Responsibilities include executing test scripts for the verification of Software, Hardware, and System requirements for applications in Space. Understanding of RF (Radio Frequency) systems, especially RADAR, SIGINT, or COMMS; programming and scripting skills; and, working knowledge of RF test equipment (Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Power Meters, etc.) is desired.
Basic Qualifications:
BS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math); or HS diploma with at least 4 years of relevant military experience with sensor systems, ideally RADAR, integration and test or operation and maintenance, or military control room console operator; or defense industry work experience with sensor systems, ideally RADAR, integration and test or operation and maintenance
Willingness to work dedicated 2nd for several months continuously (2nd shift is typically 1 PM - 10 PM)
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with RADAR and/or ESA (Electronically Scanned Array) integration and test
Experience with Space Payload or Space Vehicle (Satellite) integration and test in a clean room environment
Programming in C or MATLAB for understanding and editing/improving existing code
Scripting in Python or Tcl for understanding and editing/improving existing scripts
Experience with Confluence, Jira, and Bitbucket
TS or SCI for future opportunities at Northrop Grumman Space Systems
