Job Summary and Qualifications
This position oversees the overall operations of Facilities Management and Security.
- Plans, directs, and coordinates all activities for the areas of responsibility.
- Creates policies and procedures to ensure department(s)/service line(s) operate within the guidelines of Medical Center of Arlington regulations and that of regulatory agencies.
- Devises the quality improvement program for assigned areas.
- Participates in the development of the operating and capital budgets. Interviews and hires staff in accordance with HR policies and guidelines.
- As a member of Medical City Arlington's management team, makes a significant contribution to the public perception of the hospital.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Responsible for the development and enforcement of policies and procedures that ensure safe, quality patient care.
- Ensures appropriate personnel are available to staff in areas of responsibility.
- Coordinates HR activities within areas of responsibility for the organization's staff that coincide with the strategic goals of the facility.
- Directs activities to ensure positive customer satisfaction results.
- Facilitates positive, productive relationships with physicians. Delegates activities and tasks
- Responsible for the equipment management program, including biomedical equipment.
- Oversees safety orientation classes, hazardous surveillance surveys, and interacts with various agency representatives in preparation for disaster preparedness.
- Manage the Statement of Conditions for the Environment of Care.
- Acts as the ADA coordinator for the facility as well as the Indoor Air Quality Manager.
What qualifications you will need:
Minimum Education / Licensure/Certifications:
- Associate degree in mechanical engineering, industrial technology, electrical engineering or equivalent. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
Minimum Experience:
- Experience in hospital construction and building systems.
- Must have at least five (5) years' experience in supervising maintenance and/or construction personnel.
- Must be familiar with building maintenance techniques, equipment and operation of various systems including plumbing, HVAC, electrical and structural.
- Must be familiar with applicable codes: federal, city, state, NFPA and JCAHO regulations relating to healthcare facilities.
