Responsibilities

This role, a key contributor within the Berkley Global Underwriters organization, is responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and implementing compliant international policy forms and structures. This role involves partnering with operating units to address international needs, including network and line of business expansion, as well as refining tools, resources and communication of capabilities.

Under the direction the SVP, Berkley Global Underwriters:

  • Part of leadership team charged with the continued development and implementation of an integrated global network and infrastructure.
  • Draft policy contracts, supporting documentation, and related correspondence for international exposures.
  • Assist underwriters, Legal, and Claims in addressing issues related to contract wording.
  • Assist and train underwriters addressing issues related to local coverage concerns.
  • Participate in development of marketing support for product offerings.
  • Design tools and procedures to support the execution of local admitted policies for multiple placement options.
  • Independently lead projects and strategic initiatives, leveraging resources and building support across the enterprise.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to drive alignment and ensure successful outcomes.
  • Engage, educate and influence multiple constituents, both overseas and domestic, on procedures to access global network.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years' experience with Controlled Master Programs and international property & casualty underwriting practices strongly preferred.
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing, and modifying insurance policy contracts to ensure accuracy, compliance, and clarity.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
