Job Summary: Remtec is seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to manage, grow and diversify the procurement of materials and services essential for our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, a strong background in the semiconductor and/or electronics industry, excellent negotiation skills, and is comfortable utilizing for all procurement and data driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and document procurement processes and strategies for materials and services, consistent with ISO and AS9100 requirements, to support manufacturing operations, inclusive of:
  • Purchasing functions.
  • Selecting suppliers.
  • Competitively negotiate contracts.
  • Identifying and mitigating risks.
  • New supplier sourcing and qualifications.
  • Demand forecasting of inventory items and outside services.
  • Provide supplier and marketplace experience to grow and manage our supplier base.
  • Stay informed about supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies.
  • Hands-on Identification and qualification of potential suppliers, negotiate contracts, and establish long-term partnerships.
  • Ensure supply base compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for risk mitigation with suppliers.
  • Structure cost savings and beneficial payment terms with suppliers.
  • Monitor market trends to identify opportunities for cost savings and supply chain optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and quality assurance, to align procurement activities with company goals.
  • Proactively Interface with Engineering as obsolescence and lead time issues are uncovered
  • Facilitate with MRP processes via Epicor ERP.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders to replenish stocks as needed while avoiding excess or insufficient inventory.
  • Work with the Finance dept. as need to reconcile invoices.
  • Work with Quality dept. to resolve all supplier quality issues.
  • Contribute to NPI projects to ensure product specifications are met, ensure that supplier requirements are clear and documented.
  • Ensure that customer requirements flow down to suppliers where appropriate and confirm supplier documentation accordingly.
  • Manage and support all functions of the procurement team, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Lead and mentor a small team of procurement professionals and develop opportunities to enhance team performance.
  • Oversee RFQ activities, analyzes quotations against specifications and selects suppliers with the proper capabilities to support goods and services.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all purchasing activities, including procurement requests, purchase orders, and spending analysis.
  • Monitor PO status starting with internal approvals, through vendor acknowledgement and final delivery.
  • Ensure adherence to purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Negotiate annual price reductions and improved payment terms.
  • Monitor and manage procurement budgets and expenditures.
  • Assist in the procurement of materials and services required for production.
  • Process purchase requisitions, maintain accurate records, and create purchase orders.
  • Analyze procurement data, prepare reports, and present KPI's to senior management, inclusive of:
  • Procurement activities.
  • Cost reductions and lead time savings.
  • Supplier on-time performance metrics and scorecards.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the semiconductor and/or electronics industry.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute procurement strategies.
  • Advanced proficiency with ERP procurement tools and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate as part of a team, and provide leadership to others.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Professional supply chain certification (e.g., CPSM, CPIM).
  • Experience with Epicor ERP.
