Job Title: CT Technologist

Job Specialty: Imaging

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Day, Monday to Friday, 10:30 am - 7:00 pm

Guaranteed Hours: Please inquire for details

Experience: Minimum 1 year in Radiology; less than 1 year in CT preferred

License: Radiologic Technology Certification

Certifications: ARRT Radiography, ARRT Computed Tomography, Basic Life Support (BLS)

Must-Have: Excellent communication skills, proficiency in CT procedures, ability to work independently and as part of a team, excellent customer service skills.

Job Description:

- Perform a wide variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative.
- Verify proper clinician orders for procedures.
- Obtain complete clinical history, gather examination data, and assess for contraindicating conditions.
- Follow established procedures for the administration of contrast media to ensure patient safety.
- Ensure proper patient identification and the use of right and left markers.
- Review CT/radiographic images for clinically acceptable results and release patients accordingly.
- Respond to emergency situations and assist in the maintenance of the crash cart and life support equipment.
- Assist other technologists in all modalities when needed.
- Observe patient conditions and evaluate situations to determine when physician intervention is required.
- Demonstrate competence in age-appropriate procedures, equipment, and techniques.
- Organize schedule, time, and priorities to complete required activities efficiently.
- Follow physician instructions during procedures and exams.
- Demonstrate proficiency with loading and operating power injection.
- Utilize critical thinking skills in patient care and operations.
- Maintain competency with venipuncture, sterile technique, and pre-procedural verification processes.
- Adjust techniques to provide the lowest possible dose of ionizing radiation while maintaining image quality.
- Report malfunctioning equipment for timely correction.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain equipment in alignment with infection control policies.
- Explain the purpose and nature of exams to patients, minimizing anxiety and facilitating cooperation.
- Address patient questions and concerns, notifying physicians when necessary.
- Participate in the orientation and training of departmental employees.
- Ensure required documentation is concise, legible, and includes precise terminology.
- Complete mandatory departmental and hospital-wide education programs.
- Consistently produce acceptable images as verified by radiologist feedback and quality audits.
- Restock linens and supplies, ensuring the department is clean and orderly.
- Transport and position patients, assisting them on and off the procedure table.
- Perform patient charging activities on the day services are rendered.
- Maintain individual productivity rates equal to co-workers and ensure compliance with standards.
- Take call when necessary.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
