Job Description

as Specialist, HVAC Systems, you will be responsible to Lead all project phases from initial design to delivery, design heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in compliance with standards, coordinate HVAC activities, develop RFQs, verify supplier document compliance, collaborate with various disciplines and teams, and support maintenance and technical support in accordance with project regulations and requirements. More specifically, you will:
  • Take a lead in all phases of projects, from concept development, tender, bids, concept design, detail design, construction, commissioning, execution, modifications, through to completion.
  • Design complete HVAC solutions for new-build projects complying with all applicable rules, regulations and class requirements, and meeting operational needs. Systems shall be efficiently designed (i.e., easy to balance, fabricate, install, maintain and operate).
  • HVAC system design - calculate heating and cooling balances and specify required air handling units and DX coolers.
  • HVAC area design - layout and design ducting system, including dampers, filters, sound traps, air handling units, and fans, to ensure efficient and suitable integration in living quarters and other mechanically ventilated areas (machinery spaces, topside E-houses, etc.).
  • Produce, with necessary assistance from drafting support, flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
  • Coordinate, plan and schedule HVAC activities to ensure a logical sequence and timely preparation, review and revision of all related documents, as well as check and/or approve deliverables from the discipline and assure schedule and quality are attained.
  • Actively drive the development of relevant RFQs for module yards, integration yards, new-build shipyards and equipment packages and prepare technical bid evaluations (input).
  • Review supplier documentation to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Proactively support and cooperate with all engineering disciplines to achieve optimal design results, including relevant input and comments to other discipline deliveries.
  • Work closely with and actively support supply chain, estimation, planning and other project teams.
  • Liaise with client and classification and regulatory authorities for the submission of documents and close out of comments.
  • Support technical maintenance and support team.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or relevant education;
  • Ten (10) or more years of relevant experience;
  • In-depth knowledge of the design and function of marine HVAC systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of the relevant requirements of the classification societies and international rules and regulations.
