Advance Practice Registered Nurse-Nursery

Summary:

Looking to hire an APRN who will perform, in collaboration with a pediatrician, the initial evaluation of well newborns in a level 1 nursery as well as direct the ongoing care of the patients including the determination of readiness for discharge or termination of treatment.
Job Functions:

Independently perform initial, subsequent or discharge physical and developmental assessments, diagnosis and management of well newborns only

Utilize existing Newborn Nursery Protocols when appropriate

Review the birth and prenatal histories

Document the admission, subsequent visits or discharge exams as required by Emerson Hospital of normal newborns only

Determine the need for home visitations or consultations of newborns only

Order labs and diagnostic studies pertinent to well newborns only

Perform procedures as outlined in the delineation of privileges form

Education:
Graduation from a National League of Nurses accredited graduate program in advanced practice nursing.
