Summary:
The Senior Director, Global Communications will lead the strategic execution of global public relations, talent and influencer partnerships, brand partnerships, events, and earned media strategies to enhance the company's reputation and presence across all markets. This role is responsible for managing global PR agencies, overseeing media relations, leading influencer and celebrity partnerships, executing global event strategies, and ensuring a cohesive brand narrative across wholesale, retail, and international markets.
The ideal candidate is a storyteller and media-savvy leader with deep experience in public relations, influencer and talent strategy, brand partnerships, events, and global press strategy. This position will drive brand credibility and visibility while ensuring consistency across global communications.
Responsibilities:
Global Communications & PR Strategy
Develop and execute a global communications strategy to elevate brand reputation and market positioning.
Oversee corporate, brand, and product communications, ensuring a cohesive messaging strategy.
Lead media relations efforts, securing earned media placements, maintaining press relationships, and managing crisis communications.
Manage global PR agencies, ensuring strategic alignment with brand initiatives.
Oversee proactive and reactive media strategies, including press releases, interviews, and editorial placements.
Global Events Strategy & Execution
Develop and lead the global events strategy, ensuring alignment with brand objectives and business goals.
Oversee the execution of high-profile events, fashion weeks, retail activations, and brand experiences in key global markets.
Manage event partnerships, sponsorships, and collaborations to drive brand awareness and engagement.
Work cross-functionally with PR, talent, and influencer teams to amplify event impact through earned media and press.
Ensure events deliver maximum brand visibility, integrating talent, influencer, and media participation to enhance storytelling.
Retail & In-Store Communications
Lead brand storytelling and PR-driven activations within retail stores globally.
Oversee influencer and celebrity-driven events in retail stores to drive visibility and engagement.
Work with retail and wholesale teams to align press efforts with in-store initiatives.
Wholesale & Sales Partner Communications
Develop and execute PR-driven wholesale and retail co-op marketing strategies, ensuring brand visibility across partner channels.
Own wholesale press relationships, working directly with key accounts like Nordstrom, Harrods, and global retail partners to support PR activations.
Manage strategic brand storytelling initiatives that enhance the brand's presence across global retail partnerships.
Influencer, PR, & Talent Partnerships
Own and execute the global influencer strategy, leading celebrity, VIP, and high-profile brand ambassador relationships.
Oversee talent and influencer collaborations, ensuring alignment with brand storytelling, event strategy, and global press strategy.
Maintain and grow long-term influencer and talent partnerships, integrating them into PR campaigns and brand storytelling.
Manage global PR agencies and influencer teams, ensuring unified messaging across markets.
Brand Partnerships & Strategic Collaborations
Develop and lead strategic brand partnerships to expand reach and enhance the brand's cultural relevance.
Oversee co-branded partnerships with complementary brands, ensuring alignment with earned media and PR objectives.
Manage collaborations with fashion, entertainment, and cultural institutions to drive organic media exposure and brand credibility.
Executive & Internal Communications
Develop executive visibility programs, securing leadership features in key industry events, media opportunities, and press interviews.
Oversee corporate messaging and media training for executive leadership.
Ensure internal communications align with brand storytelling and external messaging strategies.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership
Manage and mentor a high-performing global communications team, overseeing PR, talent, and influencer specialists.
Ensure press, influencer, and talent strategies are fully integrated into wholesale, retail, and brand partnerships.
Oversee PR performance metrics, tracking media impact and talent/influencer ROI.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in global communications, public relations, or brand marketing roles
Deep expertise in fashion, lifestyle, and/or luxury industries
Experience leading global PR and influencer strategies, including agency management and international execution
Strong understanding of the global media landscape, especially in North America, Europe, and the Middle East
Proven track record managing high-impact events, brand storytelling, and executive visibility
Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills with strong strategic instincts
Must be based in Los Angeles or able to commute to the LA office at least 3 days per week
Experience in luxury fashion preferred
Highly organized, collaborative, and comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.
