Responsibilities & Key Areas

- Manages external reporting efforts to the SEC, including Forms10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K
- Direct the corporate accounting and financial reporting team
- Drive process improvement in the accounting close and reporting processes
- Liaise with the tax department for accounting for income taxes
- Drive application of both new and existing accounting standards
- Communicate to senior and executive management on accounting policy and internal control matters
- Central point of contact with external and internal auditors for integrated and operational audits
- Lead Disclosure Committee, which meets quarterly with Executive Leadership team to discuss developments in accounting, finance and legal
- Subject matter expert on interpretation and implementation of all current, new and evolving U.S. GAAP accounting issues applicable to Albany International Corp.
- Assist management in other corporate areas such as investor relations, treasury, acquisition due diligence and purchase accounting
- Develop and mentor staff

Preferred Experience/Characteristics/ Competencies & Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics required
- CPA preferred
- Minimum 10 years combined accounting experience in a global manufacturing company and a public accounting firm
- Experience leading the preparation of Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and 8-K
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting
- Experience working with a global SAP ERP system
- Experience working for global publicly traded companies
- Strong communication skills and ability to present to Executive leadership
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop succession candidates
- Motivated, self-starter who relishes the opportunity to create and build

- Exceptional judgment to evaluate and prioritize - paired with a particular capacity for dealing with ambiguity

- Experience working with consolidation applications such as BI
- Experience working with Workiva for SEC reporting requirements
