Your role, your impact

Our client's Brokerage division is seeking a seasoned senior full-stack Java developer to develop the next-generation risk computation platforms. These applications are designed to help the firm assess, understand, and mitigate external exposure during adverse market conditions. We operate in a modern and complex financial environment, utilizing advanced computational models to perform billions of calculations daily, and leveraging big data storage for analytics and data dissemination. In this role, you will work closely with trading, finance and risk management business partners across a variety of projects.

Your day-to-day

• Architect and develop risk applications in line with microservices patterns, distributed caching and stream processing with a view to scale to hundreds of billions of computations daily;
• Architect and develop efficient on-demand pricing solutions;
• Deliver large-scale P&L and risk impacting projects for the trading and sales function, in line with business growth opportunities and regulatory drives;
• Leverage industry standard DevOps practices and tooling for CI/CD, TDD and build tools;
• Develop a deep understanding of securities pricing and risk across different asset classes.

Keys to your success

• Minimum 5 years of Java/JEE experience, with a strong understanding of JVM internal components;
• Experience with the Spring stack, SQL, Linux, NoSQL databases, Hadoop, distributed caching (preferably Redis), big data streaming technologies (Flink, Kafka Streams, Spring Cloud Stream), RDBMS packages, Git, the CI/CD toolset (Maven, Gradle) and Jenkins;
• Experience in microservice development using Spring Boot;
• Experience in designing and integrating using REST APIs and gRPC endpoints;
• Experience working within an Agile environment;
• Demonstrable fluency in SQL.

Extra edge

• Experience with Scala and Spark;
• Experience with Azure, AWS and/or Google Cloud;
• Knowledge of the capital markets industry.
