The Organization

The People Organization (PO) is at the center of enabling business priorities, transformation, and readiness for the future. Accelerating efforts to be future ready requires a focus on scalable solutions, leaning into different ways of working, and execution at pace. This is the mission of the Enterprise Initiatives and Planning team (EIP): to establish an enterprise level approach for "future focused" initiatives that drive impact across HP.

The Role

You will be part of the EIP team. As a Strategic Initiatives Program Manager on the team, you will collaborate with peers and stakeholders across the PO / enterprise applying and leveraging subject matter knowledge to bring innovative solutions forward that support common people priorities designed that enable business strategies. You will be encouraged to apply creative and innovative thinking to solve customer pain points where no or sub-optimal solutions exist today .

This role will report into the VP of Enterprise Strategic Initiatives.

Key responsibilities:
  • Act as the program manager for enterprise-wide people priorities tied to strategic "future focused" initiatives. This means framing the strategy, defining the plans, and driving operational execution for initiatives under your purview.
  • Develop and implement clear charters, governance, roadmap, objectives and key results, and management of change approach for each strategic initiate led working with senior leaders in PO and the business to shape the focus of the initiative for maximum impact to the enterprise
  • Build the business case for each initiative leveraging internal and external data to articulate the enterprise benefits, assist with stakeholder alignment and investments required for successful execution.
  • Define, establish and lead the team of essential contributors required to execute on the business outcomes
  • Manage a review cadence with project teams to assess progress against milestones, issues and areas requiring additional support
  • Leverage the expertise of PO peers (COEs, Client Facing People Partners, business) to develop and implement effective change management strategies
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure that solutions are implemented in a way that minimizes disruption and maximizes adoption.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of solutions implemented to adjust plans as needed.
  • Lead in preparing progress updates for leadership reviews.

  • Business insight / judgment: Ability to prioritize focus of effort and inquiry with an eye to business impact / outcomes
  • Transformation and Change Leadership: Proven ability to tackle ambiguous, complex opportunities and bring teams / stakeholders along through the change journey
  • Continuous improvement mindset: ability to seek out and implement internal or external best practices. Intellectual curiosity, with a strong desire to learn new processes and systems

Complexity of Initiatives:
  • Works on projects where enterprise and or function level alignment may not exist and influences key stakeholder groups to establish that along with any other necessary support needed.
  • Works on efforts where industry or market data may not exist and sees the opportunity to "set the standard" for HP and, possibly, the industry.
  • Works on efforts where HP processes may not exist or are sub-optimal and sees the opportunity to "think outside" the box to streamline internal processes to do what's right for the business and its people.

Education and Experience Required:
  • MBA or equivalent graduate degree.
  • 15+ years with large scale program management and implementation (strategy, planning and execution).


The base pay range for this role is $115,850 - $178,400 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
