Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a Grant Operations Specialist for the School of Engineering. Reporting to the Grant Facilitator in the School of Engineering, this position performs pre- award administration support activities for the school's faculty and staff. Housed in the Office of the Dean, this position provides central point-of-contact support to faculty, staff, and SOE leadership in sponsored research, contractual, and program proposal submission. Pre-award functions include: review of funding agency requirements, timely development and preparation of budgets (internal, sponsor, and cost-sharing, e.g.) and other materials necessary for complete internal review and external compliant submission (e.g. biosketches, current and pending, facilities/resources sections, letters of commitment, sub award documents).

- Acts as liaison with the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs to ensure a smooth proposal development and submission process.
- Maintains detailed records and files of all proposal development projects.
- Assists with large multi-institutional and/or multi-PI proposals as needed.
- Position works with School leadership to provide regular and ad hoc data that informs strategic planning, performance, and productivity.
- Assists with providing timely information and updates to SOE faculty/staff regarding university policies, sponsored agency information and procedures, and general topics of interest to the SOE research community.

Minimum Education and Experience
- Requires a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of sponsored projects.
- Plus two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in sponsored research administration.
- Familiarity with RAPPS, Rutgers S2S submission portal.
- Experience with applications to federal, state and private granting agencies and their web-based submission portals, such as NSFs FastLane/Research.gov, grants.gov and NSPIRES.
- Ability to understand program announcements/solicitations and agency "terms & conditions" as well as their overarching guidelines.
- Demonstrated capability in budget building to follow University and sponsor guidelines.
- Understand and ensure compliance with Federal Uniform Guidance.
