POSITION: CFO
Reports To: CEO / Board of Directors
Century Housing Corporation is a mission-driven Community Development Financial Institution
(CDFI) supporting quality affordable home development throughout California. With offices in
Culver City, Long Beach, and San Francisco, Century provides innovative end-to-end financing
from predevelopment to permanent loans. In addition, Century has both real estate development
and service provider arms, which together with financing seek to address the affordable housing
and service needs of a diverse income range of projects and residents.
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, execution,
and management of all financial activities within the company, including business planning,
budgeting, forecasting, risk management, governance, and negotiations. The CFO collaborates
with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and advises on the financial strategy to achieve the
organization's objectives and financial outcomes.
Salary Range: $330-375K
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement long-term financial strategies,
budgets, and forecasts to support the organization's goals.
Strategic Advisor: Provide financial expertise and guidance to the CEO and other senior
executives on strategic decisions.
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee the preparation and analysis of financial
reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and manage financial risks, including credit, market,
and operational risks.
Capital Management: Oversee the organization's capital structure, encompassing debt
and equity financing, while providing recommendations for investment opportunities
within our portfolio. Maintain our partnership with our investment advisor and develop
strategies to ensure long-term stable returns, thereby ensuring the organization's financial
stability.
Internal Controls: Ensure the implementation and effectiveness of internal controls to
safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
Financial Operations: Oversee the day-to-day financial operations, including accounting,
treasury, and tax functions.
Capital & Investor Relations: Manage all facets of equity, debt, and banking
relationships including cap table strategy, investor relations, and financial institution
negotiations.
Identify: Explore alternative options for real estate development and investment
opportunities to ensure continuous financial support for addressing the funding
requirements of affordable housing, such as exploring B-bond options for purchasing and
issuing bonds. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations and accounting
standards.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and manage the organization's budget and forecast,
ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Cash Management: Oversee cash flow management and ensure sufficient liquidity to
meet the organization's financial obligations. Additionally, implement strategies to uphold
and enhance the organization's AA credit rating.
Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify opportunities for improvement
and cost reduction.
Mergers and Acquisitions: Provide financial expertise and guidance on mergers and
acquisitions.
Tax Planning and Compliance: Oversee tax planning and compliance activities
Auditing: Oversee the organization's internal and external audit processes.
Skills Required:
Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of financial principles, accounting standards,
and financial analysis techniques.

Requirements Include:
Minimum 15+ years of financial leadership experience. Bachelor's degree in finance,
accounting, or economics required, MBA, MS, or CPA with accounting or finance
experience required.
Knowledge of capital markets, real estate debt markets & development of impact
investment programming.
Knowledge of accounting principles and timely financial reporting by GAAP and other
relevant standards.
