Saber Power Services, LLC, (SPS) located in Houston, TX is a nationally recognized full service, EPC, specialty engineering, procurement, construction and testing and commissioning company specializing in complex medium and high voltage electrical infrastructure in North America.
Saber Power Services is seeking a motivated and technically proficient Sales Engineer to join our dynamic team, specializing in high voltage substations and switchyards, transmission lines, and battery energy storage system EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects. The ideal candidate will leverage their engineering background and sales acumen to drive business growth, build strong customer relationships, and provide technical expertise in the high voltage sector. This role will be based in Houston, Texas in our Clear Lake corporate office.
Position Summary:
The Sales Engineer plays a crucial role in driving business growth for our EPC projects. This position requires a unique blend of technical expertise and sales acumen to effectively engage with clients and Saber account managers, understand their needs, and deliver tailored engineering solutions. The Sales Engineer will work closely with project teams and stakeholders to develop competitive proposals, provide technical presentations, and foster long-term relationships. By leveraging in-depth knowledge of high voltage systems and market dynamics, the Sales Engineer will contribute to achieving our company's strategic Turnkey Solutions (TKS) division objectives while ensuring client satisfaction and project success.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients, stakeholders, and industry partners in the high voltage sector.
- Identify and qualify new business opportunities in substation and transmission line projects, utilizing a consultative sales approach.
- Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to develop tailored solutions that meet customer needs and align with company capabilities.
- Prepare and deliver compelling technical presentations and proposals to clients, showcasing our services and value propositions.
- Conduct site visits and assessments to understand project requirements and constraints, providing accurate technical guidance to clients.
- Own and execute the preparation of bid documents, including technical specifications, project scope, and commercial / legal parameters.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform strategic sales initiatives.
- Provide ongoing support to clients during project execution to ensure satisfaction and foster long-term relationships.
- Participate in industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote company offerings and expand professional connections.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns that effectively communicate our high voltage capabilities.
- Other responsibilities as delegated by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience in sales engineering, business development, or a related role within the high voltage or electrical infrastructure industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of substation and transmission line design, construction, and operation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with engineering design software.
- Willingness to travel as needed for client meetings, site assessments, and industry events.
