DIVISION DESCRIPTION:
Wholesale Banking is the primary investment banking division of the Socit Gnrale Group. Present in over 50 countries across Europe, the Americas and Asia, Wholesale Banking provides corporate, financial institutions, investors, and public-sector clients with value-added integrated financial solutions.
The SG Americas Compliance department acts as Second Line of Defense of the corporate banking, investment banking and broker-dealer activities across Societe Generale's operations, reporting on the compliance risks and issues to local, regional, and head office management. The staff provide the business lines with guidance on relevant laws, rules, and regulations applicable to their activities and the development of related policies, procedures, training, and controls.
The Department oversees compliance with external and internal rules that govern our banking and financial activities including Know Your Customer, anti-money laundering, anti-terrorism financing, sanctions & embargoes, client protection, market integrity, anti-bribery & corruption, and data protection. Additionally, it conducts trade and communications surveillance, and manages transversal support functions that help the Department achieve its goals.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Years of Experience: Seven to ten years of compliance or regulatory experience, preferably in a trading environment, risk management function, or law firm, or with a US federal regulator or self-regulatory organization. Education: Bachelor's degree; Advanced degree in law or finance a plus. Language(s): English; French (a significant asset). Technical Skills

COMPENSATION:
Base salary range does not include overtime pay, bonus and/or other benefits, where applicable. Actual base salary offer will vary based on skills and experience. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and includes a competitive benefits package including 401(k) plan with company match, medical/dental/vision, and other benefits for fertility, wellness, student loans and commuters.
- Recommend and implement changes to the Societe Generale ("SG") Swap Dealer ("SD") and Security-based Swap Dealer ("SBSD") Compliance Programs, including relevant policies, procedures and controls, on an ongoing basis;
- Provide robust, independent advice to SG Business Units/Service Units on DFA requirements;
- Collaborate with Compliance testing teams and other internal control functions to continually monitor, evaluate, establish and implement effective DFA Title VII-related policies, procedures and controls;
- Contribute to and review periodic reports that the Firm or Compliance management must make, either to SG DFA oversight forums or regulatory authorities;
- Work with Compliance colleagues on the development and coordination of ongoing training to employees on requirements impacting SG as an SD and SBSD;
- Contribute to ongoing firm-wide regulatory change programs/workstreams as a senior Compliance stakeholder in respect of new regulations implementing OTC derivatives-related requirements or modifying existing requirements;
- Drive the review and implementation of new DFA-related regulation, presenting accordingly to the SG US Regulatory Change Committee;
- Represent SG in external, DFA-related working groups and committees;
- Review and/or draft responses to internal and external regulatory queries relating to DFA matters;
- Otherwise assist SG Americas Compliance senior management, as required, relating to DFA matters;
- Ensure your adherence to all applicable internal policies; and
- Read, understand, and comply with SG Group's Conduct Standards and corresponding requirements.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- Strong knowledge of laws, rules and regulations pertaining to financial services firms, including CFTC, SEC, FRB, FINRA, and/or NFA regulations setting out obligations of Swap Dealers and Security-based Swap Dealers;
- Experience working within a Swap Dealer and/or Security-Based Swap Dealer Compliance program to meet the requirements of the Dodd-Frank Act;
- Ability to make, support and defend complex regulatory/compliance decisions;
- Ability to project senior-level confidence and professionalism in all dealings with front office and control function personnel; and
- Ability to develop and maintain positive and effective partnerships with colleagues and internal stakeholders.
Preferred:
- Strong knowledge of Compliance risk management programs;
- Familiarity with clearing and trade reporting systems, and related compliance programs;
- Strong research skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and attention to detail;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Self-motivated and ability to effectively multi-task; and
- Ability to identify, develop and recommend "best practices" based on regulatory guidance and internal business practices.
