Description:
What We Do
At Vitalize, we enable health systems to automate and optimize staffing operations, freeing up thousands of hours and reducing labor costs by millions.
Currently, schedules still live on paper, spreadsheets, and whiteboards, and hospitals are building new departments of 20+ FTEs to manage this tangled mess.
In less than 6 months, Vitalize has reached 7-figures in ARR and is backed by top investors, including Y Combinator and top health systems.
Our Vision
To become the unified clinical operating system for health systems. After rebuilding hospital staffing and scheduling automation-first (our wedge), we want to consolidate fragmented HR and clinical operations processes that are trapped in Excel or Legacy HR systems.
Position Overview
At most places, integrations are simply a "keep-the-boat-afloat" project. At Vitalize, when done well, integrations drive major time-savings and cost-savings for our users. Every health system can be a bit different though.
You will lead and manage the technical and integration aspects of software implementation at health systems, collaborating with IT teams, nursing staff, and HR/payroll teams. You'll navigate confusing stakeholder relationships with competing interests, oversee the building and testing of integration logic, and have ownership over implementations from start to finish.
You're effectively a product manager for integrations, a core product pillar, and have the opportunity to define the roadmap and vision for integrations at Vitalize.

Unique Challenges
- Mission-Critical Software: If something breaks, the ripple effects hit real people-like a short-staffed ICU or a nurse not getting paid correctly. You'll be expected to hold a high quality bar, manage rigorous testing protocols, and respond swiftly to production issues-often within hours.
- Complex Stakeholder Relationships: You'll regularly interface with stakeholders across IT, nursing leadership, HR, and payroll-each with their own incentives, technical fluency, and constraints. You'll need to untangle conflicting requests, build consensus, and guide teams through ambiguity.
- Productizing Integrations: Every health system is slightly different. Our job is to identify patterns across them and build modular, reusable integrations that can scale. This means knowing when to generalize, when to hard-code, and when to push back. You'll work closely with engineering and product to define architecture and own the roadmap for how we evolve integrations from a series of one-offs to a strategic product moat.
- Company Trajectory: In less than a year, we've already secured contracts with 20+ hospitals and have no signs of slowing down.
- Small but Rockstar Team: We are a small team of published healthcare researchers, college and grad school dropouts, former McKinsey consultants, former US math champions, and previous VC-backed founders.
- You like Chipotle: elaboration not needed
- Mission-Driven Company: Every employee has the opportunity to visit a customer site in-person, and we often build alongside them, elbow-to-elbow. This means when we mess up, we take ownership over the ripple effect. And when we succeed, the wins are addicting.
- Professional Growth: As an early employee, you will have the opportunity to eventually build and lead a team that helps us keep up with growth and maximize success.
