The Phoenix Police Department seeks a full-time temporary grant funded Police R & I Operations Supervisor. The Police R&I Operations Supervisor position will work at Police Headquarters at 620 W Washington Street. This position is tasked with researching the causes of unreported arrest dispositions, working with law enforcement partners to identify root causes, and develop a streamlined approach for clearing the backlog of over 900,000 unreported final arrest disposition in the state criminal history data base, and establish new practices and procedures for moving forward. In addition, the Police R & I Operations Supervisor will oversee the grant expenditure reporting to the grant unit the status of the grant project. This position supervises two Administrative Assistant I positions. Supervisory duties include writing annual performance reviews, approving time slips, keeping monthly notes on employee performance, reporting regularly the status of the backlog, handling more complex issues related to the grant, ensuring staff is adequately trained and quality metrics are kept. This position works primarily days with weekends and holidays off and reports to a Police Research Supervisor.
The temporary position is intended for the duration of the ADRS- Automated Disposition Reporting System project. This position will be funded through September 30, 2026, with a possibility to be made regular in a future budget cycle. The temporary position will have benefits but will not earn city retirement credits or participate financially into the City's retirement program. If the successful candidate is a current City employee, all benefits will still be applicable, and the employee will still contribute to their pension. Temporary positions are not covered under civil service rules, and thus employment is considered at-will and employees may be separated at any time.

Pay Range: $72,966.40 to $102,668.80 annually
Hiring Range: $72,966.40 to $84,468.80 annually.

- Previous experience working with confidential and sensitive data.
- Experience writing manuals, policy, and procedure.
- Experience with managing grant-funded initiative.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Four years of increasingly responsible experience in the maintenance of complex automated police records or identification systems.
- Two of which must be at a supervisory level.
- Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or related field.
- Other combinations of experience and education that meet the minimum qualifications may be substituted.
- Working hours: Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:
- Experience working with arrest data.
- Previous law enforcement experience.
- Advance computer skills, Microsoft Suite, Records Management Systems, Law Enforcement Systems.
