Our Healthcare department is seeking a Wholesale Underwriting Director experienced in underwriting medical facilities, medical professional liability, and/or senior living facilities to join our growing team. This is a market facing role with frequent interaction with wholesale trading partners. This position requires strong communication, collaboration, negotiation, relationship development and analytical skills to transact business within a fast-paced environment. This role reports to President, Healthcare and will be an integral part of the Healthcare leadership team. This is a full-time, exempt role.
*This position may be hybrid or remote and based anywhere in the United States, with ability for regular business travel to key specialty locations as needed. Location of position is flexible. Our teams have presence across the country.*
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This role will focus on production and distribution with our wholesale partners and management of the wholesale underwriting team. Works closely with leadership to drive underwriting and portfolio quality, sales and operations excellence, talent development, strategy development and execution. Provides technical insight and guidance to team and leaders on accounts and execution of the strategy.

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:
- Develop and implement strategies for new and existing wholesale partners based on current trends, underwriting results, opportunities, and directives. This includes distribution management strategies and underwriting strategies including new class development.
- Monitor performance of direct and dotted lined reports in achieving established goals.
- Support account referrals and engage at the customer level for the most complex and prominent accounts.
- Achieve financial targets for overall growth and profitability. Drives execution of plans to achieve results.
- Assures compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements and ensures the integrity of underwriting discipline.
- Work closely with Allied and Eldercare underwriting leadership to ensure technical underwriting integrity.
WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:
- 7+ years of experience in Medical Professional Liability Underwriting.
- High technical knowledge in Allied Health and/or Eldercare.
- Sound technical knowledge of the wholesale market, Medical Facilities and/or Senior Living coverages, risk selection methods and pricing.
- Prior supervisory/management experience commensurate with premium volume and size of staff, 3-5 years preferred.
- Bachelor's degree required; CPCU or RPLU designation desirable.
- Strong communications, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
