DIRECTOR OF FINANCIAL PLANNING & ANALYSIS

Job Title: Director of Financial Planning and Analysis

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Location: Can live in Socal, Norcal, Dallas, TX, or Austin TX

FLSA Status: Exempt

Compensation: $150,000 - $175,000 annually

Summary:

As the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) you'll lead the company's FP&A team through financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, management reporting and thought leadership. This position will work cross-functionally to analyze business performance, challenge key assumptions, participate in scenario planning and drive the setting of short- and long-term financial plans for the business. The Director of FP&A will play a pivotal role in driving financial insights and strategic decision - making for a company that's passionate about turning the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze Business Performance: Lead financial planning and analysis efforts, proactively identifying trends and opportunities to drive operational excellence and strategic growth.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Partner with key stakeholders across development, operations, marketing, and private equity ownership to deliver actionable insights that align with our culture of culinary exploration and service.
• Deliver Financial Reporting: Oversee weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial analyses and presentations that reflect accuracy, clarity, and a focus on continuous improvement.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Manage annual budgeting/planning processes and quarterly forecasts by combining historical trends with innovative scenario planning.
• Cash Flow Optimization: Maintain weekly cash flow forecasts while identifying opportunities for improvement.
• New Store Analytics: Support expansion efforts by analyzing capital expenditure, restaurant-level profits, and ROI metrics for new locations.
• Pricing & Marketing Initiatives: Collaborate on pricing strategies and revenue optimization solutions that reflect our commitment to turning the ordinary into the extraordinary.
• Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide analytical support for executive management team needs, focusing on automation and evolution of financial reporting processes.
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of two, fostering a culture aligned with Mendocino Farms' values of inclusion, growth, and excellence.

Requirements:

• BS in Finance (MBA preferred).
• 7-10 years of progressive experience in financial analytics.
• Exceptional analytical skills with a proven ability to improve operational performance.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and database programming tools.
• Experience in restaurant or multi-unit companies is a plus; private equity or investment banking experience is also valued.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Sitting / standing 6-8 hours.
