Introduction
Analyst Relations is at the nexus of IBM technology and business strategies. Our team plays a critical, cross-functional role working with experts at many different levels of the organization across offering management, marketing and communications. We work with industry and technology analysts to inform the market on IBM's offerings and seek feedback from clients, partners and the market at large.
Candidate should have:
Deep understanding of market landscape, business unit strategy and goals, portfolio vision, roadmap and offerings
Identifies gaps and opportunities for the business and areas to exploit across the analyst community.
Can deliver "the pitch" and interact with analysts in the absence of a spokesperson and respond to objections. Can provide a "proxy" voice of the analyst community, delivering their opinion inboundto IBM to course-correct the business.
Ability to tell a compelling story that shows how IBM is addressing client needs and key trends in the market
Strong relationship DNA, ability to build strong relationships with analysts, internal spokespeople, and AR leaders at IBM's ecosystem partners
Excellent content creation and writing skills, ability to synthesize complex topics for an executive audience
Ability to partner across IBM teams and create a narrative that ties together multiple IBM businesses
Capacity to glean meaningful insights from conversations with analysts and communicate the message back to an executive audience with clear recommendations and actions
Confidence and tact to present constructive advice to IBM leaders that may hold an alternative view
Aptitude to build consensus and brings teams together in the spirit of "one IBM"
An eagerness to work with highly influential individuals both in and outside of the company
The tenacity, determination and patience to be able to push through obstacles and challenge conventional thinking; sense of urgency on matters with the understanding of the impact that the work has to the business.
Your role and responsibilities
Leads a direct team of AR professionals across a complex, multi-stakeholder community.
Accountable for business metrics, goal setting, and contribution.
Establishes forum, structure and communication cadence for GM and senior leadership dialog tobring analyst voice to bear to help achieve strategic goals.
Creates financial plan and optimizes investment decisions. Convinces stakeholders onengagement strategy and gains acceptance for interaction content and methods. Identifies gaps and opportunities that need work and finds a way to get the work done.
Aligns stakeholder groups, resolving differences of opinion to drive optimal analyst engagement.
Sought out, trusted voice in business unit strategy discussions. Commits resources and makesnecessary tradeoffs effectively to support the business.
Negotiates complex multi-functional situations. Demonstrates executive presence, poise and shows grace under pressure.
Builds, nurtures and owns relationships with the top analysts covering the IBM's core markets
Drives analyst understanding how the various parts of IBM come together to help clients solve their most complex problems, transforming companies and industries
Ability to identify the top analysts, advisors, and influencers and build engagement plans to build productive, long-term relationships to bring insight into IBM and accelerate revenue growth
Partner with Marketing and Communications colleagues to leverage analyst content to drive demand generations efforts, and demonstrate IBM's thought leadership via analyst-owned channels
Target the right evaluative reports like MQs, Marketscapes, Peaks etc., drive leadership results for IBM, activate these assets to drive top of funnel demand for IBM, and leverage for impact through seller enablement
Leaders are expected to spend time with their teams and clients and therefore are generally expected to be in the workplace a minimum of three days a week, subject to business needs.
Required education
Bachelor's Degree

Required technical and professional expertise
12-15+ years of Analyst Relations or external relations experience ideally working in/with an IT services organization
Expert project management, problem-solving , negotiation and influence skills
The ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and manage multiple stakeholders, internal and external to IBM
To be able to collaborate with Sales teams and suggest creative ways of engaging analysts to influence client decisions and drive revenue
Strong attention to detail, you chase tasks until completion and proactively follow-up with urgency
Preferred technical and professional experience
MBA or other advanced degree
Existing knowledge of IBM and competitive offerings, strategy and competitive differentiation
10+ years experience at Enterprise Technology companies in roles including Analyst Relations, Market Intelligence, Product Marketing, Strategy, Business Development, or Communications
