At BGE the Community Relations Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and effectiveness of nonprofit board management, event coordination, and community engagement initiatives for the Corporate Community Impact team. This position is responsible for streamlining the administrative processes related to the nonprofit board tool, facilitating successful board training sessions, and providing logistical support for key events and sponsorships. Note: The successful candidate may be required to work extended hours, including storm coverage and other emergent needs.

This position is responsible for streamlining the administrative processes related to the nonprofit board tool, facilitating successful board training sessions, and providing logistical support for key events and sponsorships. Primary Duties
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Lead quarterly maintenance and updates for the nonprofit board engagement tool, ensuring all reports, dashboards, and system components are current and accurate.
- Handle ongoing administrative tasks, including the addition of reports and changes to the dashboard.
- Coordinate logistics for board training sessions, including recruitment, sign-up, and setup for both in-person and virtual events.
- Manage event logistics including attendee coordination, event registration, ad material preparation, and speaker coordination.
- Collaborate with the business analyst to identify attendees and ensure seamless registration for events.
- Ensure events are added to the CCI calendar, send invites to attendees, and update event details in weekly reports.
- Track and report on event attendance and impact.
- Oversee event sponsorships, including the coordination of sponsorship materials, tracking attendance, and managing communication with sponsors and speakers.
- Manage engagement for BGE-sponsored walks and participate in impactful storytelling via social media.
- Assist with BGE's Special Grant programs, providing administrative support and coordination as needed.
- Provide ongoing support to grantees and resolve system issues via Cybergrants.
- Create Microsoft surveys for Corporate Relations and manage survey responses.
- Review and evaluate email inquiries to the CCI mailbox, responding to both internal and external partners.
- Respond to inquiries from MarComms for external partner communications.
- Provide administrative support to other workstreams, including Workforce Development and Community Engagement.
- Attend CCI-sponsored events as needed to ensure smooth execution and support engagement.
- Prepare presentation materials for Charitable Committee and CCRC meetings.
- Support Powering Communities initiatives with coordination and communication as needed.

- This is an individual contributor position that works under general supervision and frequently performs non-routine work.
- This position requires an elevated attention to detail; therefore, we are seeking a candidate who is detail-oriented, able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- The candidate should also have a high proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in public relations, communications, marketing or related discipline and 2-5 years related experience in private sector or nonprofit community affairs, public relations or related area, OR in lieu of bachelor's degree, 6-9 years of relevant experience.
- Skill requirements: written and verbal communications, project development and coordination, relationship development, event marketing, project management, and computer proficiency.
- Proficiency with PC applications to include Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Demonstrated ability to build consensus, establish trust and work effectively with internal and external customers.
- Ability to work across organizational boundaries.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and work in a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends.

- Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $68,000.00/Yr. - $93,500.00/Yr.
