Job Description
The Senior Attorney is a mid-level attorney position in the Company's Law Department. A Senior Attorney provides legal support in connection with the Company's compliance with federal, state and local labor and employment laws, rules and regulations, including EEO, traditional labor, leave laws, wage and hour laws, immigration, and health and safety laws, and support regarding the negotiation and implementation of the Company's labor contracts. The Senior Attorney will be expected to represent the Company in state and federal court and before local, state and federal administrative agencies, support and appear at union grievance-arbitration hearings, and counsel Company management on a wide variety of labor and employment law matters. The individual filling this position will be expected to work independently on matters of varying complexity, manage more complex projects, meet deadlines, and make verbal and written presentations to Company management regarding labor and employment issues and laws.

Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Represent the Company in federal, state and local court and administrative proceedings and to negotiate and/or litigate in connection with labor, employment and wage and hour compliance matters.
- Provide advice and counsel to Company management on compliance with federal, state, and local labor, employment, and wage and hour laws, rules, and regulations.
- Support Company management in the negotiation, implementation, and interpretation of the Companys labor contracts.
- Perform legal research, write legal memoranda and draft contracts.
- Provide any other labor and employment-related legal services related to Company operations.
- Perform other related tasks and assignments as required.
- Perform administrative matters in connection with the operation of the Law Department.
- Work with and support outside counsel on matters of moderate or high complexity.
Qualifications
Required Education/Experience
- Juris Doctorate from a recognized and accredited law school
- Must be admitted to practice law in the state of New York. Required
- Must have a minimum of 5 years legal experience with a focus on labor and employment matters (including administrative and judicial proceedings). Required
- Must possess excellent presentation, interpersonal, written and oral communication, litigation and negotiation skills. Required
- First chair deposition experience. Preferred
- Experience with wage and hour matters. Preferred
- First or second chair trial experience and substantive motion practice. Preferred
- Driver's License Required
- Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday
- Must be able to respond to Company emergencies by performing a System Emergency Assignment to restore service to our customers.
- Must be able and willing to travel within Company service territory, as needed.
