About the Role
Uber Freight is looking for a Security Technologist to join our Security team. Your principal mission will be to identify vulnerabilities in cloud resources and configuration owned by Uber Freight, build remediation plans and implement the best security practices to triage the findings and harden the cloud. You will work closely with engineering and infrastructure teams throughout the company. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced security specialist who is knowledgeable in multiple cloud and security domains to play a central role in shifting security left, and make cross-cutting strategic impacts to the security of our next-gen systems and services.

About the Role
Uber Freight is looking for a Security Technologist to join our Security team. You will work closely with engineering and infrastructure teams throughout the company. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced security specialist who is knowledgeable in multiple cloud and security domains to play a central role in shifting security left, and make cross-cutting strategic impacts to the security of our next-gen systems and services.
What You Will Do
- Develop and perform multi-disciplinary cloud security reviews across multiple cloud providers (Azure, AWS, GCP) and implement Cloud Security initiatives to ensure continuous alignment with security standards and requirements
- Create quality written remediation plans to prioritize and resolve the security findings
- Actively implement the remediation by using cloud-native services and configuration best practices, as well as 3rd-party tooling
- Timely respond to security events, 0-days and outages
- Monitor adherence to standards and recommend improvements as needed
- Provide technical security guidance for partner engineering teams across the enterprise
- Continuously learn and educate the team of industry trends around cloud security
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure Security (Azure is required), AWS, GCP and other major cloud providers is desirable
- Passionate about the proactive detection, prevention, and remediation of security threats, integrating security tools into daily operations and security architecture in the cloud
- Up to date with recent security attack vectors and latest security research
- Experience working with vulnerability management, EDR and SIEM toolsets
- Ability to operate independently, to learn new concepts and adapt to shifting priorities
- Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with multiple teams at the same time, across different time zones
Preferred Qualifications
- BS. or above in Computer Science, Electrical, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent work experience as a security practitioner or a cloud architect
- Industry recognized technical or security certifications (Azure/AWS/GCP certification)
- Familiar with security standards such as NIST CSF, ISO/IEC 27001
- Ability to work as part of a team while still having a diverse thought process
