Senior Media Planner

The Senior Media Planner is a strategic and experienced media planning professional who is responsible for developing and executing integrated media plans for a portfolio of clients. This role requires a deep understanding of the media landscape, strong analytical skills, and the ability to think creatively and strategically. The ideal candidate has experience leading strategic executions, excellent communication skills and is a team player who is adept at working with internal brand, analytics, social, production and creative teams, as well as direct client interaction.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a primary media point of contact on assigned accounts (both internally and externally - with clients and rep community.)
  • Drive strategic media planning research using standard tools (MRI, Scarborough, comScore, etc.)
  • Develop media strategies for both online and offline media, including programmatic and site direct, broadcast, paid social, outdoor, print, and search
  • Develop media plans, recommendations, and POVs
  • Lead the preparation of RFPs, media plans, objectives, and strategies decks
  • Negotiate best price and media placement for clients, as well as negotiate, reconcile, and resolve media discrepancies
  • Present recommendations to internal teams as well as assigned clients
  • Oversee team accuracy of media documentation, including but not limited to Client Media Authorizations, Insertion Orders, Contracts, Budget Documents, Pacing, Make-Goods, and Reconciliations
  • Analyze campaign performance and recommend necessary optimizations, where applicable
  • Confer with supervisors, clients and/or client service, and team members for approvals and make adjustments as necessary
  • Partner closely with the creative team to share creative analysis and recommendations when appropriate to improve media performance
  • Oversee media planners and assistant media planners for plan execution, accuracy and mentorship/career development
  • Stay current on emerging media trends, partners, and technologies to provide best-in-class recommendations and POVs for clients
  • Provide support for supervisors (AMDs, Media Directors, etc.)
  • Ability to oversee team and own proprietary internal tools for trafficking, naming conventions, and campaigns integrity

Requirements:
  • Four+ years of media planning and buying experience
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, and superlative attention to detail
  • Experience working on a team, managing up to supervisors and oversight/development of junior staff
  • Strong media research and planning tools experience: MRI-Simmons, Scarborough, Comscore, Resonate and Google suite applications. Experience in search and/or social media paid platform business managers a plus, but not required
  • Strong client service orientation, excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to multitask and manage approximately 5-6 clients
  • Collaboration with search, social platforms/teams, and analytics for 360-degree program execution
