To be considered for this role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:
Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering plus a minimum of 6 years or more experience in a broad application of electrical engineering skills
Broad experience with development of a variety of engineering drawings, schematics, and technical reports, thereby possessing a strong ability to review, critique, and approve the engineering work of others (PLM Technical Approver role)
International engagement is a routing element of this role, and occasional travel (5-10%)
Experience managing people in a supervisory/managerial role
It'd be great if you also had:
Master of Science degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering
Experience in the aerospace or other highly regulated industry
Possess strong people skills in order to lead assigned team, interface with other section heads, and global managers, and assist with globally matrixed projects
Working familiarity with the following tools and standards:
DOORS requirements management system
Cadence and OrCAD
PSPICE or LTSPICE
Teamcenter PLM
IPC-620, IPC-630, J-STD-001
NFPA-79
As a Section Head, you will:
Lead a team of electrical engineers assigned to develop test equipment in the Aircraft Group. Serve as direct supervisor for 1-10 direct reports, providing technical mentoring and training to develop his/her team's competency, skills, and efficiency to meet test equipment engineering global standards.
Work together with the Test Equipment Site Manager(s) to assign engineers to projects as required and is accountable for your team's performance in the execution of their project responsibilities.
Enforce process compliance and participates in process development to improve efficiency and rigor.
Perform performance reviews for assigned staff and participate in workforce planning and recruiting/hiring.
Workforce planning and recruiting/hiring.
Be an individual contributor 50% of the time
Serve as a direct individual contributor to assigned projects at 50 - 75% capacity. In order to serve directly as an electrical engineer on TE projects, and to effectively mentor the assigned team, the section head for TE electrical engineering will need competency in the following disciplines:
Analog/Digital Circuit Design
Electronic Test Console (ETC) Design for ATP, QTP for flight control system components
Design of Real-time HIL/SIL test systems for complex flight control systems
Cabling design for flight control test systems
Electromechanical design and packaging
Printed Wiring Board (PWB) Design
