Description:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled OT (Operational Technology) Network Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking, cybersecurity, and OT systems, with the ability to design, implement, and maintain robust network infrastructures within industrial and critical infrastructure environments. As an OT Network Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring the seamless operation of industrial networks, facilitating secure communication between OT devices, and supporting the ongoing digital transformation of our OT environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Design and Implementation:
o Design, configure, and deploy OT network solutions, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and wireless communication systems for industrial control systems (ICS) and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems.
o Ensure network architecture aligns with industry standards and best practices for OT environments.
Security and Risk Management:
o Implement robust cybersecurity protocols to protect OT networks and devices from threats.
o Work closely with IT and cybersecurity teams to develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
Network Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
o Continuously monitor the performance and availability of OT networks and systems to ensure optimal performance.
o Identify and resolve network issues, including hardware failures, bandwidth problems, and security vulnerabilities.
o Use network management tools to track, analyze, and troubleshoot network performance.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
o Work closely with IT, operations, and engineering teams to integrate OT network systems with business systems and improve operational efficiency.
o Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to ensure the reliability and security of OT network infrastructure.
Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain detailed documentation of network designs, configurations, and security protocols.
o Generate reports on network performance, security, and incidents to inform management and stakeholders.
Pay Range: $35/HR - $55/HR

Required Skills & Experience
Education:
o Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications may be a substitute for formal education.
Experience:
o At least 3-5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on OT, ICS, SCADA, or industrial networking.
o Proven experience in designing and supporting industrial network infrastructure.
o Strong background in networking protocols such as TCP/IP, Modbus, DNP3, and Ethernet/IP.
Skills and Abilities:
o In-depth knowledge of OT network security best practices, including network segmentation, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems (IDS).
o Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g., Wireshark, SolarWinds, NetBrain).
o Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a high-stakes, operational environment.
o Familiarity with industrial protocols such as Modbus, OPC, Profinet, and EtherCAT.
o Ability to work with legacy systems while integrating new technologies.
o Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.
o Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying issues before they impact operations.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Certifications (preferred):
o Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or higher.
o CompTIA Network+.
o Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
o Industrial Control Systems Cybersecurity Professional (CCSP) or other relevant OT certifications.
