Shift: 8am-4:30pm Pass Days: Sat. & Sun.

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Seven years of experience in health services or developmentally disabled services, hospital administration, social services, psychology, or special education; OR

Six years of full-time work experience plus four years of experience in health services or developmentally disabled services, hospital administration, social services, psychology, or special education; OR

A bachelor's degree plus four years of experience in health services or developmentally disabled services, hospital administration, social services, psychology, or special education; OR

An advanced degree in health administration, hospital administration, special education, psychology, or social work plus three years of experience in health services or developmentally disabled services, hospital administration, social services, psychology or special education.

EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Job Concepts

FUNCTION OF WORK:
To manage treatment programs within a residential facility supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).

LEVEL OF WORK:
Manager.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED:
Broad direction from a higher-level administrator. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.

SUPERVISION EXERCISED:
Direct over supervisor-level personnel. Other reporting relationships may be approved by SCS.

LOCATION OF WORK:
Louisiana Department of Health; Office for Citizens with Developmental Disabilities. Other locations may be approved by SCS.

JOB DISTINCTIONS:
Differs from IDD Program Director 2 by the absence of responsibility for administering IDD facility programs with direct oversight of manager-level personnel.

Manages assigned facility program(s) that serve and/or impact residential IDD clients.

Provides management of facility functions and/or programs that may include active treatment, quality assurance, community transition, etc.

Reviews and evaluates operations; recommends appropriate action to administrative personnel.

Interprets regulations and policies. Prepares reports for assigned program(s).

Conducts a variety of complex studies and submits recommendations to administrative personnel.

Coordinates the implementation of new programs and procedures.

Provides input into budget recommendations.

Coordinates programs and services with entities such as other state agencies, community partners, etc.

Represents the agency at meetings and professional organizations as assigned.
