The Field Project Engineer will be part of the Commissioning and Start up (CSU) team reporting to the Commissioning Manager supporting the execution scope in the CSU of the Drilling Pad, Central Processing Facility, Tie-in Pads, and Seawater Treatment Plant.
The purpose of this position in to provide engineering support to the Integrated Commissioning and Start up (ICSU) team and coordinate field contractors/vendors. The role will interface closely with Construction and Operations teams.
The role will assist satisfy site technical queries, liaise with and manage the performance of contractors during site execution, carry out commissioning plan/procedure reviews, support and facilitate commissioning and handover activities, and actively remove roadblocks to execution and drive improvement in execution outcomes.
This role is vital to ensure the technical and execution aspects of the project receive the right engineering support required. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development of a state-of the-art facility and shape its operational success.
Responsibilities
Promote and lead in the implementation of company realted policies and procedures, including Safety, health, environment, process, people and planning.
The Project Engineer collaborates closely with the Commissioning Manager and Commissioning Team to ensure project success. The main duties of the role include:
Provide field engineering technical support to field execution activities as required
Coordinate and manage field vendors for the Commissioning Team
Coordination of site technical queries and RFI's
Drive contractor safety performance undertaking site construction activities
Compliance to projects schedules, cost, quality and safety targets
Drive improvement, efficiency, quality and cost reduction in field execution activities.
Provide liaison services between Project Team and execution contractor.
Review and respond to technical queries and validate quality of information and data
for commissioning purposes
Ensure that engineering tasks are carried out in accordance with the relevant
QA/QC and Engineering Design Standards
Carry out pre-commissioning checks in readiness for commissioning and handover to
Operations
The role will also support in;
Assisting with contractor performance management
Monitoring for compliance with Project document control procedures and taking corrective actions
Provide guidance to contractors / vendors (e.g., regarding design trade-offs, Owner preferences, etc.)
Interface management with Construction and Operations.
Delivers a project safety culture and acts as an icon towards HSE excellence. e.g. takes personal role in leading project site safety audits. Continuously monitor and assess project risks developing and implementing mitigations as appropriate following the risk management process.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Formal Qualifications
A Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent in an appropriate field.
Applicants must be eligible and authorized to work in the United States.
Experience/Skills
10+ years of major international oil / gas projects in execution and delivery roles
Experience in Oil and Gas projects execution with exposure to detail design, procurement, fabrication, and construction.
Understanding of applicable codes and standards.
Demonstrated leadership, communication and organizational skills.
Technical competency.
Proven experience in administering major components of project execution plans.
Demonstrable interpersonal / teambuilding skills.
Effective interpersonal skills required to interact at all levels of seniority.
Experience working on Alaska North Slope projects would be a plus.
