Title: Director of Product Strategy

Position Overview::
The Director of Product Strategy is responsible for driving the strategic direction, innovation, and growth of the dietary supplement and personal care product portfolio. This role focuses on identifying market trends, consumer insights, and competitive opportunities to develop and execute a winning product roadmap. The Director works cross-functionally with R&D, marketing, regulatory, and sales teams to ensure that product innovation aligns with business objectives, brand positioning, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Product Strategy & Innovation:
Develop and lead the overall product strategy for dietary supplements and personal care products to drive innovation and revenue growth.
Identify and analyze market trends, consumer behaviors, and competitive landscape to inform product development and expansion.
Build and execute a multi-year product roadmap that aligns with business goals and evolving customer needs.
Drive new product concepts from ideation to commercialization, ensuring they align with brand positioning and regulatory standards.

2. Portfolio Management & Optimization:
Oversee the product lifecycle, including launch strategies, performance analysis, and rationalization of underperforming SKUs.
Collaborate with R&D and marketing teams to enhance existing formulations, packaging, and branding.
Ensure that all products meet regulatory and compliance requirements (e.g., FDA, FTC, USDA Organic, Non-GMO, NSF, etc.).
Develop pricing, positioning, and promotional strategies to maximize product profitability.

3. Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution:
Partner with R&D, operations, regulatory, and marketing teams to ensure seamless execution of product launches and go-to-market strategies.
Work closely with sales and retail teams to support distribution strategies, retail placement, and customer engagement.
Lead competitive intelligence efforts to assess emerging trends, white space opportunities, and potential risks.
Guide internal teams on product claims, substantiation, and marketing strategies that align with regulatory guidelines.

4. Strategic Business Growth:
Drive category leadership by identifying innovative ingredients, delivery formats, and emerging health & wellness trends.
Build relationships with key industry partners, suppliers, and regulatory bodies to stay ahead of market shifts.
Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of product strategies and adjust as needed.
Provide leadership and mentorship to product management teams, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Qualifications & Experience:
  • 8-10 years of experience in product strategy, innovation, or product management within the dietary supplement and/or personal care industry.
  • Proven track record of successful product launches and market expansion.
  • Strong knowledge of industry regulations (FDA, DSHEA, cGMP, FTC, etc.) and compliance best practices.
  • Experience with consumer insights, trend forecasting, and competitive analysis in health & wellness.
  • Strategic thinker with a business-oriented mindset and a deep understanding of go-to-market execution.
