Job Description:

Dedicated to achieving unparalleled customer satisfaction and operational excellence, the Field Service Technician in Mechatronics specializes in providing top-notch service for our cutting-edge bagging and palletizing machinery. This role encompasses installation, commissioning, start-up, and debugging, as well as diverse projects such as upgrades, audits, and equipment optimization. Additionally, it involves conducting both formal and hands-on training sessions.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Customer Satisfaction:
  • Diagnose and resolve complex issues in the mechanical, electrical, and software aspects of advanced packaging equipment, ensuring utmost customer satisfaction.
  • Lead the installation, commissioning, and start-up processes of new equipment, leveraging mechatronics expertise.
  • Conduct hands-on training sessions for customer personnel, focusing on safety, proper operation, and preventive maintenance.


Project Management:
  • Undertake diverse projects including upgrades, audits, and optimization of equipment to enhance overall system performance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to plan and execute projects within specified timelines and budget constraints.


Team Effectiveness and Efficiency:
  • Serve as a bridge between internal departments, fostering seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Provide remote technical support from the home office, utilizing mechatronics knowledge to troubleshoot and address customer queries effectively.
  • Communicate updates on customer equipment to internal departments for timely updates to technical documentation.


Technical Proficiency:
  • Utilize mechatronics skills to contribute to the updating of technical documentation, including manuals, drawings, program files, and in-house training programs.
  • Proficient in PLC programming to optimize the performance of packaging machinery.


Profitability:
  • Ensure project completion within quoted margins, combining mechatronics expertise with efficiency to meet financial objectives.


Essential Qualifications:
  • A degree in Mechatronics or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the packaging industry, demonstrating expertise in mechatronics, mechanical, pneumatic, and controls systems.
  • Strong customer relations and interpersonal skills, with a diplomatic approach.
  • Ability to thrive in a team environment and contribute to collective success.
  • Proficient in PLC programming and basic computer skills (Word and Excel).
  • Possession of a valid driver's license.


ADA Requirements:
  • Physical ability to bend, squat, climb, grasp, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Continuous walking, standing, and movement in a typical machine shop environment.
  • Familiarity with machine shop physical hazards, requiring respiratory protection.
  • Occasional operation of a computer with keyboarding skills.
  • Frequent travel by air and car (up to 80%)


The approximate pay range for this position is $90,000-$110,000 annually. Please note that the pay range is a good faith estimate at the time of posting and may vary based on factors such as experience, skills, and geographic location.
