Product Teams at Target are accountable for the delivery of business outcomes enabled through technology and analytic products that are easy to use, easily maintained and highly reliable. Product teams have one shared backlog that is inclusive of all product, technology, discovery and design work.

The Guest Privacy & Choice product within the Guest Data Platform combines multiple capabilities to collect and manage the choices guests make about how their data is used at Target and enables the enterprise to consume and apply those choices. Working closely with partners across Privacy, Legal, Marketing & Digital, this product abstracts complex regulatory requirements at the state and federal level with scalable technical solutions to become the authoritative source of guest opt choices for the enterprise. In addition, this product is responsible for providing guest marketability authorization to marketing applications and guest facing surfaces. An ideal candidate will have an understanding of strategies that develop trust with guests and evangelize the value exchange of personal information between guests and Target. In addition, they will have an eye toward marketplace trends in privacy and have a passion for solving complex problems.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the strategy, development, and execution of product roadmap for several data and internal services applications that enable Target meet guest data privacy expectations and privacy-compliance requirements.
  • Maintain deep understanding of the data infrastructure and ensure that the product capabilities accommodate the broader data architecture in the enterprise.
  • Collaborate with engineering leaders, peer product managers, third-party partners, legal, and compliance teams to maintain robust backend integrations that securely pass customer data to marketing and other digital channels.
  • Develop and maintain roadmaps and product OKRs that focus on privacy-related features and enhancements, ensuring alignment with company-wide product goals.
  • Act as the voice of the customer in privacy-related discussions, ensuring the customer experience is at the forefront of all product development.
  • Provide input on the design of the user experience (UX) for privacy, providing customers with transparency, clarity, and control over their data and how it is used.


As a Senior Product Manager, you will work in the product model and will partner to develop a comprehensive product strategy, related roadmap, and set key business objectives (OKRs) for your respective product. You will need to leverage the knowledge of your product, guest feedback, broader consumer sentiment, and other relevant data points to assess value, develop business cases, and prioritize the direction and desired outcomes for your products.

You will be the "voice of the product" to key stakeholders to ensure that their needs are met, and that the product team is getting the direction and support that it needs to be successful. You will develop and actively understand the market, maintain a product roadmap and backlog outlining the consumer and internal user-focused themes, epics, and stories while prioritizing the backlog to focus on the highest impact work for your team and stakeholders.

You will encourage the open exchange of information and viewpoints, as well as inspire others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance while committing to the organization's direction. You will foster a sense of urgency to achieve goals and leverage resources to overcome unexpected obstacles, and partner with product teams across the organization to help them achieve their goals while pursuing and completing yours.

About you:

Four-year degree or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of product management experience or equivalent domain experience, preferably in the digital privacy or customer identity space
  • Expertise in compliance, especially domestic and global privacy regulations (e.g. CCPA, COPPA, Age restrictions), industry standards, and have demonstrated experience applying them in a complex technology environment
  • Knowledge of industry trends in Privacy and/or vendor privacy tools preferred (e.g. OneTrust, Osano, Securiti)
  • Deep understanding of data management, data flows including personal information (PI), and digital marketing practices
  • Experience with technology and ability to facilitate communication between business and technology teams
  • Proficient in Agile, with experience working in a product model (e.g., user stories, iterative development, scrum teams, sprints, personas)
  • Ability to lead a body of work with cross-functional partners


This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target's needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member's core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location the role is assigned to and virtually, depending upon what your role, team and tasks require for that day.
