As a Manufacturing Engineer in the Operations department, you will have one of the most critical roles at the company. You will be a member of the team that produces the best-in-class, tough-as-nails product that YETI is known for. This individual will interface with workstream and business owners including Engineering, Procurement, Quality and Program Management to own the manufacturing of our products in production. This role will be focused on technical projects in a fast-paced environment including molded plastics products and beyond while pushing the envelope of what is possible for best manufacturing process, product cost, and product performance. This position requires up to 10% travel both in country and internationally.

Responsibilities:
Sustain, improve, and validate the manufacturing processes for YETI products that meet quality, capacity, capability, and cost requirements by making data-driven decisions and collaborating across departments
Collect, record, and transcribe data and transfer these results into reports to accurately convey all key elements of the manufacturing process and its performance against target
Work with equipment designers and finished goods suppliers to develop innovative, cost-effective, capable and repeatable production processes and oversee the implementation process including process layout. Must also be the technical subject matter expert for said equipment.
Ensure projects are completed on time and financial budgets and the CAPEX processes are followed
Communicate technical requirements to suppliers while enforcing YETI confidentiality
In coordination with Procurement, Program Management, and Lean Engineering, inform a cost reduction roadmap based on the should-cost analysis and drive out waste to ensure cost targets are achieved
Lead initiatives to improve pass-through rates and drive continuous process improvement at supplier factories
Coach, mentor, and develop others in manufacturing engineering

Qualifications and Attributes:
Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field
At least 4 years of relevant experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field of plastics. Consumer products industry a plus.
Demonstrated success in engineering principles such as DFM, DFA, VA/VE, and QA/QC as well as troubleshooting tooling and process issues
Innovative and creative problem solver with meticulous attention to detail and a stickler for time management
Open to bi-directional feedback and able to apply it to improve themselves, their team, and YETI
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to filter and distill the relevant information to the right audience
Comfortable with change and ambiguity with the ability to quickly propose solutions given limited guidance
Can communicate with technical and non-technical team members effectively
Understanding of lean tools, principles, and methodology
Proficient in 3D CAD software (Solidworks preferred)
Team player with demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at various organizational levels internal-ly and externally
Ability to influence without authority
