Job Description
Job Title: Cardiovascular Technologist
Job Specialty: Cardiac Services
Job Duration: 17 weeks
Shift: 8-hour day shift
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of two years in diagnostic and/or interventional cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology lab
License: Active American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT)
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
Must-Have:
- Graduate from an approved school of radiologic technology
- Demonstrated clinical competence in basic cardiac physiology/pathology
- 12-Lead EKG interpretation
- Physiologic monitoring (intra-cardiac pressure waveform knowledge)
- Pacemaker operations (implantable and external)
- Experience with EPIC charting
Job Description:
- Provide technical support and assistance to the physician during diagnostic and invasive cardiovascular and interventional radiology procedures.
- Perform scrub and hemodynamic monitoring duties with cardiac catheterizations, vascular, and interventional radiology procedures using clinical knowledge, technical skills, and professional judgment.
- Assist in the holding area and provide care assessment prior to, during, and post-procedural care and instruction to patients.
- Prepare and maintain all pertinent information related to procedures.
- Complete a service partner orientation on the first day onsite, in addition to department and service-specific orientation.
- Regular staff attend one-day general orientation training.
- Participate in a new service line with call requirements and potential weekend shifts.
Please note: This is a new service, and specific scheduling will be determined based on staffing. There is an anticipated start-up period during which employees are expected to complete required training.
