Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in budget, financial, or accounting services; or a high school diploma/equivalent and eight years of related experience. (Note: a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years.)

Anticipated Salary Range
The anticipated starting salary for this position is $88,250.00, commensurate with education and experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leads the Payroll Operations and Payroll Accounting teams, ensuring payroll processes are accurate, timely, and compliant with all applicable laws and university policies.
- Provides training on new systems, technology updates, and the latest rules and regulations.
- Partners with the Payroll Director to plan and execute department strategies, ensuring that payroll operations are efficient and effective.
- Collaborates with IT to improve payroll systems, resolve technical issues, and implement solutions that streamline operations.
- Serves as the primary contact for resolving complex payroll issues promptly and effectively.
- Acts as the university's liaison with state agencies to ensure compliance with Florida's payroll regulations.
Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of payroll processes, accounting systems, and the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to guide and motivate teams to achieve their highest potential.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to assess complex situations, think critically, and implement appropriate solutions.
- Experience in staff development and fostering a positive, collaborative team environment.
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is preferred. If you do not yet hold this certification, we are committed to supporting you in working toward it.
