THE OPPORTUNITY

Responsible for managing the day-to-day of the Credit Analyst Team, whose primary responsibility is assisting Underwriters, Portfolio Managers and Relationship Managers with financial reviews and analysis. Oversees the review of borrower information, credit/financial analysis and due diligence to insure initial process meets regulatory and Banc standards. Performs all duties in accordance with the Company's policies and procedures, all U.S. state and federal laws and regulations, wherein the Company operates.

HOW YOU'LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE

  • Communicate and manage loan origination and portfolio review assignments to the Credit Analyst team.
  • Train and mentor Credit Analysts in analysis of credit files and any new processes.
  • Perform analytics and create reports for the team.
  • Assist with the monitoring and reporting of the origination process and portfolio review activities.
  • Set goals and manage performance evaluations of direct team members.
  • Conduct regular team meetings to discuss origination statuses, address any issues, and monitor goals.
  • Respond to calls and emails in a timely manner.
  • Develop a strong working relationship with Relationship Managers, Credit Administration, Risk Management, Loan Administration and other group that support the line of business.
  • Responsible for Credit Analyst Team's timely and accurate spreading of operating history, personal and entity financial statements and/or tax returns of borrower, as applicable and required.
  • Responsible for the covenant quality control call back process and workflow
  • Applies detailed knowledge of Ncino system and its reporting capabilities as it relates to workflow management for the Credit Analyst Team's responsibilities.
  • Responsible for various procedure and process documents to update periodically and recommend changes to appropriate parties for approval such as the Spreading Guidelines.
  • Oversees the Team's initial credit analysis of loan requests and reviews with Relationship Manager, Underwriters, Team Leads and/or Credit Administration, as warranted by the complexity of the transaction.
  • Engages with external parties to manage workflow between internal credit analyst team and vendor(s), provide oversight of vendor deliverable quality and timeliness, and provides guidance and training to vendor's team on all responsibilities.
  • Oversees the Team's initial review of borrower by analyzing their background, credit, and legal information, to validate their credit worthiness and legal standing.
  • Ensures the timely and accurate ordering of various third party reports and searches (i.e., credit reports, tax returns, UCC searches).
  • Oversees the Team's monitoring of financial and covenant compliance in conjunction with Underwriters and Portfolio Managers, as applicable.
  • Conducts professional and courteous correspondence with clients.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Keeps up with changes to banking regulation and completes bank training courses on time.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field required and/or 7+ years of related work experience and/or training.
  • Work related experience must consist of a strong understanding of lending, specifically, cash flow and collateral analysis and loan structuring.
  • Financial analysis experience working with business financial statements and tax returns and individual financial statements and tax returns preferred.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Fair Housing Act (FHA), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Customer Information Program (CIP), Right to Financial Privacy Act (RFPA, state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA).
  • Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; Microsoft Office applications including but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in intermediate math and accounting skills required.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to grasp and understand mathematical concepts, including accounting concepts, balancing, loan interest calculations.
  • Ability to comprehend and explain financial calculations. (Level III)
  • Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.
  • Excellent time management skills and accustomed to working with deadlines.
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision while performing duties. (Level III)

SALARY RANGE

The base salary ultimately offered is determined through a review of education, industry experience, training, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant in alignment with market data and other factors.
