Description:
Within the framework of the objectives and policies established by the Hospital Administration, responsible for 24/7 oversight of the Arizona Burn Center operations. Responsible for creating and driving an exceptional Burn Center service line that embodies Valleywise Health's mission and values. In conjunction with key stakeholders, facilitates the development of a strategic plan for the service line, implements the plan, and markets the services. Develops processes through the continuum of care that support outcomes specific to patient flow, clinical outcomes, customer satisfaction, and efficiency. The position is responsible for unit management as it relates to safe care, policy adherence to support regulations and patient care standards, financial outcomes consistent with unit budgets, and customer and employee satisfaction. Individuals must be able to guide the change process through leadership influence rather than authority.
Annual Salary Range: $133,057.60 - $196,268.80

Qualifications
Education:
- Requires a master's degree in nursing or
- Bachelor's degree in nursing and a master's degree in a related field or must obtain a master's degree within four (4) years from the job's start date.
Experience:
- Must have a minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible clinical experience within the service line that demonstrates a high level of understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Experience must include demonstrated leadership ability, preferably working in a related management position in a healthcare setting.
Certification/Licensure:
- Must possess a current, valid AZ RN license, temporary AZ RN license, or valid compact RN licensure for the current state of practice.
- Must be in good standing with the issuing Board of Nursing.
- A BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center will be required within 3 months.
- ACLS, PALS, ATNC, or other certifications may be required.
- In addition, certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice:
- Adolescent BH: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card.
- FQHC Administration: Must have a valid fingerprint clearance card issued by the Arizona Department of Public Safety or submit a completed Affidavit at the time of hire. Must complete fingerprint clearance card application within seven (7) days of hire date. Must present actual card within ninety (90) days of applying for a fingerprint clearance card.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Must have demonstrated competence in service line management, streamlining, and coordinating clinical services beyond traditional discipline boundaries and department-specific performance improvement, including integrating clinical, quality, and financial outcomes.
- Requires demonstrated experience in facilitating and implementing a strategic planning process with specific outcomes.
- Must have previously demonstrated experience in leading a successful change process with a multidisciplinary team that includes physicians and healthcare providers and demonstrated knowledge of managing and meeting budget outcomes.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
- Must be a successful leader of people, have strong leadership skills, and the ability to motivate a team.
- Must be able to decide how to allocate people, time, and other resources to create, execute, and accomplish an operating or project plan on time and within budget.
- Must have solid analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to utilize the appropriate management techniques to plan, organize, control, and coordinate activities.
