YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE:

Reporting to the Reporting to the Manager, Strategic Planning & Analysis, you will be part of the Strategy Department. You will be responsible for financial planning and analysis including preparing budgets and Life of Mine plans; managing the review of Operational and Capital expenditures budgets/forecasts with departmental managers as well as being an active contributor to the Finance team. You will also ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Serve as a key resource in the completion of annual budgets, Life of Mine, forecasts and support managers throughout the budget process (both OPEX and CAPEX)
  • Maintain up-to-date financial files, ensuring that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and appropriate support is maintained
  • Prepare various reports and provide analysis of variances for key operative parameters
  • Participate as a key role in cost saving opportunities
  • Prepare reports to assist management in understanding departmental costs
  • Work with and provide information to internal and external auditors as required
  • Assist with economic justifications for capital expenditure as required and ensure appropriate documentation and filing of the Authority for Expenditure (AFE) reporting sheets
  • Identify and track key performance metrics for capital expenditures and participate in long- and short-range financial planning for capital expenditures
  • Occasional travel to Mine Sites in Ontario


WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • Bachelor's Degree or College Diploma in a related discipline (Business, Commerce, Accounting, Economics, etc.)
  • Professional accounting or finance designation or working towards designation is required
  • Three to five years' of relevant experience
  • Previous experience of general accounting and working with general ledgers
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience with SAP, XERAS, Hyperion, and OneStream is considered a strong asset
  • Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic and growing company
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize assignments
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Mining industry experience in operations or technical role is considered a strong asset


Your Work Schedule:

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday at our Timmins Regional Office or one of our satellite offices in Sudbury, North Bay, or Kirkland Lake
  • This role is eligible for the Ontario Regional Teleworking Policy
