Job Title: Respiratory Therapist
Job Specialty: Respiratory Therapy
Job Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 8H Days 5x8s | Monday-Friday with weekend on-call rotation
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week
Experience: Minimum of 1 year
License: Valid respiratory therapy license required
Certifications: BLS, Certified Respiratory Tech (CRT) preferred RRT
Must-Have: Ability to work independently, experience with pulmonary function tests, no first-time travelers
Job Description:
- The therapist will be the sole respiratory therapist in-house, responsible for infants, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Responsibilities include conducting inpatient and outpatient care, emergency room, and pulmonary function tests (2 days per week for 3-4 patients).
- Additional tasks involve arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, performing 12-lead EKGs, and managing all respiratory therapies and devices.
- The therapist must be capable of independent intubation and management of airways and ventilators, along with stabilizing and transporting patients.
- Supervision is provided by the Respiratory Manager.
- On-call duties are required 24/7, with a response time of 20 minutes.
- Will float across inpatient, outpatient, and ER settings as necessary, including pulmonary function tests.
- Scrubs of any color are allowed; equipment includes Bella Vista 1000 and Trilogy 202 ventilators, Fisher Paykel humidifiers, Panda Model 1502 infant warmers, and NDD Easy One Pro PFT systems.
- General orientation includes one day with nursing staff and 1-2 days with the respiratory team.
